He replied as if his life depended on it as he left the room without wasting a single time . A few minutes later he came in with Jimmy who was clutching a laptop , and he went back to resume his position at the door . " Boss ! " Jimmy starts " You need to see this ! " He dropped the laptop on Liam's desk, played footage and resumed talking . " Three hours ago , there was a glitch in the airport's CCTV I was monitoring like you ordered me to . I tried restoring the missing footage but to no avail , it seemed like whoever did this wanted to get your attention.

He argued with himself for several more minutes before the silence stretched out to an uncomfortable outburst. The footages were tampered with. They were missing clips from three days to the gender reveal party and on deal day. "Fuck shit up.." He muttered, his mouth curling in amusement. "Fuck shit up!" Alarmed, his right hand man, Bullet, moved closer to him. "Chief?"

Lots of footage was the norm. Through the noise of the last preparations, everyone heard the chatter on one device. A mechanical voice registered with cameras rolling and the sound recording, the chilling statement. Barry Bad No Talk “Okay, I am sorry. I didn’t do that. No one asked anything. I don’t know whether it’s a glitch.” He tossed the device onto the table before him as if it burnt him.

The laugh cut off instantly. I frowned, leaning forward on the sofa. Glitch, I told myself. Just a compressed audio error. I unpaused it. The movie continued, but the laughter returned a few seconds later, layered underneath the dialogue. It was mocking, a rhythmic he-he-he that seemed to pulse with a life of its own.

I was already getting up as I said the words. “Again? You just peed not quite long again” Devin complained, but he was already picking up the remote to pause the movie. “Aire was sitting on my bladder,” I yelled the words over my shoulder on my way out of the living room. I couldn’t help but smile as I turned the corner and heard Devin say to Kim, “I’ll rewind the movie to where we were before you interrupted us.” I didn’t hear Kim’s retort, but I was sure they’d still be bickering when I got back.

My thumb slipped, and I accidentally deleted the message. "Damn it," I muttered, jabbing at the screen. I opened the recycle bin, scrolling quickly to recover it. But instead of restoring the partner’s message… I accidentally tapped the video I’d deleted this morning. In an instant, the obscene clip popped open, filling the screen. "Not this again," I groaned under my breath. But for some reason, my eyes didn’t flick away immediately. There was that blonde girl again, murmuring, "Hey, brother…" She giggled softly as she started peeling off her shirt.

My stomach knots just seeing it. Theo smirks. “Now we make it lie.” He presses another button. For a second, the footage flickers—then loops. Same few seconds repeating. Empty office. Empty office. Empty office. I lean forward, pulse kicking up. It’s working. Then the screen glitches, the loop stutters, and suddenly the feed cuts to static. The program crashes. Theo curses under his breath and slams the desk. “Fifteen seconds. That’s all I get before the damn thing chokes.”

All he did when he was standing again was wipe his eyes, fling the goo off his hands, and look at the giant slug-like creature as it again slowly began to move toward the other side of the road while slime dripped off him. Lindsay and Little Bob were laughing so hard by that point that they were not paying attention to the rest of the video. Lindsay had her head on her desk, trying to catch her breath. Little Bob was now on his knees, leaning on her desk so he would not fall on the floor laughing. “I have said it before, and I will say it again. We need to sell all of Max’s dash camera footage. We would make a fortune if we did,” he said as he gasped for breath.

“Please, go ahead.” The technician set up his laptop and pressed play, but the screen remained blank. “Why isn’t there anything here?” The technician fiddled with the equipment, starting to sweat as he tried repeatedly but found no footage at all. Anne's face paled as she whispered to the technician, "What’s going on?" “I…I don’t know,” he stammered, then blurted, “I swear I didn’t delete that part…” Realizing his slip, he quickly clamped a hand over his mouth, but the damage was done.
