Mia laugh-snorted. “Daddy, you’re being silly. I didn’t know you could be silly.” “I can be silly,” Arthur said, but something grabbed his attention, and he was distracted. “Let’s go in.” Arthur had found a small painting, barely bigger than my palm. It was a mother and daughter looking at a mama and baby swan. “I’ll take it,” Arthur told the gallery clerk in Italian. He looked at me and then at Mia. “So we can remember this trip.”

Everything clean and organized. Then she noticed the art on the wall. A framed piece hanging above the side table. It looked old. Almost medieval in style. The colors were rich but faded like it had been painted centuries ago. Elena stood and walked closer. It was a wolf. But stylized. Powerful. Surrounded by symbols she didn’t recognize. And in the center was a girl. Young. Beautiful. Dressed in white. The wolf stood behind her like a guardian or maybe a predator. The whole thing felt both beautiful and unsettling.

Maria wasn't interested in their drama and was just about to leave, but something caught her eye as she stopped. Glancing over, she saw that the fan who just wanted a signature was holding a painting. It was one of Robin's early works—a painting of a small Amaron town that had even won an award. Maria had been a fan of Robin for a long time and recognized it immediately. She had even tried to buy it once, but someone beat her to it. This piece was totally different from Robin's later works, so it was understandable that newer fans didn't recognize it. But Eleanor was denying it in public, as if it wasn't hers at all.

"Look at you in that dress. Legs for days. These old men are drooling." I laughed. "Shut up. You're the famous painter now. I saw your exhibit downtown last month. Insane." She waved it off but smiled. "Thanks babe. It's going okay. Clients are a nightmare though." We found a spot by the pool, away from the crowd a little. She launched into stories right away. "This one guy," Artemis said, sipping her drink. "He wants a portrait of his ugly dog. Fine. Pays big. But then he says make the dog look noble. Like royalty. I'm like sir, your dog looks like a rat with asthma."

The executives filed out, leaving me alone with the obsidian table and the folder Amara had brought. I finally reached out and touched the leather. It was still warm from where she had held it. I opened the folder. Inside, on the very first page of the report, was a small, square post-it note. It wasn't a message about the data. It was a small, charcoal sketch of a bird—a sparrow—trapped in a cage of lines that looked suspiciously like the Moore Crest gate. I stared at it for a long time. The lines were delicate but certain. It was the first time I had seen her art since I’d caught her hiding a canvas weeks ago.

Zayne's viewpoint I poured my focus into the sketch of Larissa I was working on. A sudden idea hit me to use Serenity, Larissa, and Starliss for fairytale art. I wasn't sure if it would turn out well but the idea was storming in my brain. I envisioned Larissa as a fairy. Larissa looks nothing like a fairy so that was the idea. How to turn her into a fairy, an angel, or a mermaid. It was just for fun and distraction.

Craig fixed his outfit as he entered the office. “I apologize, Alpha, I was trying to give Artemis a bath and she ran off” He said with a frown. I chuckled because Artemis seemed to hate the water just as much as I do. She turned her little face up to look at me and made puppy dog eyes at me with a little lip pout. Her eyes were two different colors. Her left eye reminded me of Wyatt being a dark blue sapphire color with little golden flecks throughout it and her right eye being a pure molten gold color with dark blue sapphire flecks throughout it. She looked like Claris, but with Wyatt’s hair and nose, but I could easily imagine her looking like me. I stared into her eyes and smiled again.

Pelin’s POV Artemis let out an exaggerated sigh and twirled in the air like she was bored of us. “This simply won’t do. I am here to play, so play it well, girls.” Then she blew us a mocking kiss. “For good luck,” she said in a venomously sweet tone. “Par…” Cancer started. “Sssh! Don’t bore me with your talking. If you’re going to do it, get on with it already!” Artemis said and waved him off in annoyance.
