"Thank you, pup," he says, his voice barely above a murmur, reverent. "This is the best gift I've ever gotten." Rose beams, pleased, as though she's bestowed upon him something priceless. And in her innocent way, she has. Placing a hand behind Rose's back, Artemis hugs her closely. She looks at Atlas over her shoulder, and a pained smile appears on her face.

But mama did?” She was confused.
