A couple of seconds later, a screen appeared in front of him. The image of a husky with purple eyes in the middle of a city was visible in it.

“It was Zoro. He heard two men talking . According to him, they haven’t turned yet but it looks like they are going to be vampires.” Kira nods at him to continue. Alpha Azraiel looks grim as he utters the next words. “One of them saw a white wolf while coming to Charlotte."

Arkyn growled, becoming more and more frustrated by the conversation. “Why did you not mark her back?” Garold asked, walking over to the gate. “Damn it. I..Whose fucking heads are these.” Arkyn yelled, slamming his fist down on the desk. The box toppled over with the impact of his fist hitting the desk. As the box fell over the heads rolled out. They rolled off the desk and crashed onto the floor. Dried blood smearing across the floor and vacant empty eyes staring up at them. “Oh I know those heads!.” Skarde started looking at them.

A thin trail of salvia escaped from his mouth, jaw slack. "Bastard!" Babi jumped, punching the ground with his free fist. The crack in the floor opened wider and a long limb wound its way out. The arm was grey and contorted, as if the bones were made of rubber. It reached, snatched for the whirling bird who seemed to be enjoying the frustration below. Whatever the limb belonged to could not squeeze through, but the top of a withered skull was visible, covered in a few wisps of wiry, white hair, home to flies, crawling from the split that spanned from brow to back.

A wolf skeleton. Fully articulated, bones bleached bone-white by years in the water. The skull grinned at me—empty sockets, jagged canines, the spine trailing ribbons of decayed flesh that drifted like pale seaweed. Thaila's Pov It was indeed a werewolf, but its skull was laying a few feet away from its body, half-hidden beneath frost. Its human shape was unmistakable but also wrong. The jaw was warped. The teeth were too long and sharper than natural. The bones, scraped and gnawed. My stomach tightened. “What happened here?” I asked quietly. Kael crouched beside the remains. His expression shifted into something unreadable. “Starvation,” he said.

Inside he found a tangle of arteries and veins, each horrifyingly thick, until he saw the brain, a wrinkled and crumpled mush of soft tissues so grotesquely huge.

Arka stepped into the mirror's frame. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only black basketball shorts hanging low on his sturdy hips. Arka stood directly behind Bima, creating a lethal, visual contrast. Arka’s broad, athletic shoulders seemed to completely swallow Bima’s slimmer frame. Arka’s veiny skin looked remarkably dominant as he placed both of his large, calloused hands firmly on Bima’s waist.

He grabbed Cane’s arm, the one that wasn't burnt to ash, and raised his combat knife. He would ask for forgiveness for treating his body like this, but after everything he had made him go through, Cane deserved whichever way his body was handled. He slammed the knife down and got to work. He decided he would do the gruesome work of retrieving the humerus bone that contained his marrow by himself. About ten minutes later, he had the bone he wanted. He shoved the bloody bone into a biohazard bag at his belt. "GOT IT!" Aser roared. "NO!" Varkov shrieked from the catwalk. "My battery!"

“I’ve felt Valeria’s energy before, and I can feel traces of it around this place.” Someone in the back stepped on something, and the sound of something crushing carried through the forest. Looking down, he found that he had stepped on a human skull. Looking around, they realised there were more skulls scattered on the ground. Some were weathered and covered by undergrowth, while others seemed to have been dumped recently.
