Ascendance Trilogy Novels & Stories

Rainer looked at the Phantom “Aren’t you coming with me?” “This is your journey; I have no right to travel there. But don’t worry we will meet again.” With those words, the Phantom’s body shattered like glass and disappeared. Rainer nodded, turned towards the peak and began to climb. The black steps glowed with every step Rainer climbed. He felt lighter than he had felt in years, almost as if his worries were starting to wash away. As he approached the peak, he noticed the platform was made of stained glass. The various colors of glass formed some sort of multi layered circle with odd looking symbols. Symbols that looked as if they were from an ancient form of writing.

"He's the son of the Alpha of Gale Pack… You're telling me he doesn't know the Gale Pack is one of the three most powerful packs in the North, second only to the Lycan King's pack? He just came back to inherit Gale Pack after seven years of training outside." "And he's also the strongest out of the heirs of the three great packs." "What? Impossible!" Jane looked at Terry and stumbled back in disbelief, her expression instantly turning pale.

And even scarier of all was that there were some who had only been unfortunate to be around when Ares was having a fit and dared to defend themselves from his wrath. The quiet field was suddenly filled with the sound of footsteps. Soon, three men appeared, having climbed up the mountain using the long staircase that led below. These three men were great in stature, and each and every one of them possessed the aura of a powerful Ascender. For each and every one of them was a True Ascender. There was no falsehood in their power! The large fur cloaks they wore fluttered gently in the wind as they moved, and their large leather boots left deep prints on the floor of the field. Each and every one

They began to uncover fragments of a larger plan, a nefarious scheme that involved not just the crystal's power but the very fabric of existence itself. With each step, their path became clearer, and their purpose solidified. The Ascendants were no longer a scattered group of individuals; they were a united force, fueled by compassion, and driven by the belief that even in the face of darkness, light would prevail. And so, the journey continued, with the Ascendants inching ever closer to their final confrontation with Damien. Along their arduous journey, they encountered enchanted forests teeming with mystical creatures, treacherous mountains that tested their resilience, and desolate wastel

But the victory was short-lived. "You're too late," Myles whispered, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "The Ascendants were never just soldiers. They were the last phase in the Ascension Protocol. They’re designed to survive even your control, Evryn." Evryn’s stomach churned as she realized what he meant. The Ascendants weren’t merely tools. They were designed to adapt, to outlast any rewrites or attempts to control them. And in that moment, Evryn understood the true depth of the conspiracy she had uncovered. The Ascendants weren’t the last of Project Lux. They were the first of something far worse.

Only a few. But I see potential in one soul. A woman. I have, ever since her first incarnation. And back then, her name was...Drina. And unfortunately, like most inspirational stories, hers started in the darkest of all places. Drina was a tortured soul in her first life. A life, which has come to shape her soul now. Where are we in incarnation thirteen you ask? Well, let me show you... Xandra Kallan

The universe did not feel different in the wake of the Ascension; it felt more like itself. The "Post-Ascension-Drift" was the era of the "Deep-Echo," a time when the physical structures of the Sovereignty-Empire began to soften and merge into the natural landscape of the cosmos. The "Andromeda-Spire" and the "Foundry-of-Foundries" were no longer rigid monuments of iron and wood; they became "Organic-Outgrowths" of the planets they inhabited, pulsing with the "Quintessence" that now flowed through the vacuum like a sub-atomic tide.

she asked quietly. "Not all of them", James assured, "However the ones with the highest potential to keep balance will always be human", he stated weakly. "So Ascendants I'm assuming is some kind of magical gift?" Ash asked baffled. "Not quite", James answered biting his lip, "Ascendant; is both an adjective and a noun, as an adjective it means, a progenitor", he said, "Or someone from whom you are descended the most powerful or important or influential. As a noun it means, a position or state of being dominant or in control", he explained.

They clung to each other, sobbing—a scene so touching it could move anyone to tears. I stared coldly at the jeweled circlet on his head, flashing arrogantly in the firelight. My own hair, before I died, had been tied back with nothing but a frayed leather cord—some drunken client's careless afterthought. I listened as Matthew, in that clear, sweet voice of his, spun a story so perfect it was seamless. "Father, forgive me—I've been so unfilial. I wasn't lost that night. I was taken—kidnapped by slavers.

“Then there's a series of werewolf lore. And last, you'll find books about the third aspect of your lineage in this section.” Uncle Apollos walks over to a bookshelf and removes a large, leather-bound tome. He opens it and turns to the first page, revealing an intricate drawing of a creature that seems to be a mix between a vampire, a werewolf, and something else entirely. “This is a Tribrid, comprising three supernatural lineages. As you can see, your ancestors were powerful beings, capable of impressive feats. Now it's time for you to learn how to harness your powers and control them.”
