Ascendance Trilogy Novels & Stories

But maybe, there’s more to her than what meets the eye. Prologue: Victor’s P.O.V: Two years ago... I have a bad feeling about this. Two weeks ago, my life had been completely normal, uncomplicated. But that was before my sister came back after graduating college with two of her best friends...with her. Kendra Millar

"Because I was approached about one. Years ago, after Lydia died. A witch came to me offering a way to bring her back. To reverse death itself through an ascension ritual." My blood went cold. "What did you tell this witch?" "I told her to get the fuck out of my territory before I killed her myself." He met my eyes. "But I researched it afterward. Wanted to understand what I'd turned down. Ascension rituals require three components—a power source, a vessel, and a catalyst." "Define those."

I pat him on the shoulder before we pull apart. ------------- King Orrin's ashes lay in the jar, as every God in Serenacia stays present in the room, honouring the dead king. Octavius, the wizard of Gods, takes over the event, where Orrin takes part in burial ritual of spreading his father's ashes through the Holy line, so he can rest in peace. The signature of white attires compliments the hall, as both God and goddesses, pay due decorum and respect to the late king. My eye meets with Cicero, as the look on his face makes me feel even more guilty of knowing what I know, but still yet, I couldn't call it murder when it is indeed treason.

“And the seventh?” Her tone dropped. “Rank Seven, it's called... Ascendant Prime.” I felt goosebumps. “It’s not official. Not listed on any Academy board but everyone’s heard of it. The legends say it was created for beings who transcend the usual magical limits, divine-blooded, resurrected gods, or hybrids so unstable they become… something else.” She looked at me carefully. “Some say no one’s reached it. Some say… a few have but they either disappeared or were locked away.”

A few minutes later, the snake woman slithered gracefully and inched 3 meters closer to them, elevating their heartbeats even more. Fang flinched in fear, but when he looked into Creed's stern eyes, he calmed down. Running away might seem like the most logical option, but it was not. Ascension was not something ordinary, but a very private and a grand occurrence. To encounter a being ready to ascend was not something that happened daily. At least not for beasts. More than a phenomenon, it was a representation of awakening. The purification of the body. The reincarnation of a soul.

She wanted to trust him—God, she did—but Lila’s return, Dorian’s games, it all muddied everything. “Not right now,” she said, soft, fractured, and she turned—to Lila, her mom, the past she couldn’t outrun—because this was bigger, heavier. “Show me,” she said, voice hard, her fingers brushing the vial—Dorian’s trap, or his legacy. “Take me there.”

Gods. A pair of gryphons soar overhead, their bondeds laughing as they dive through the clouds. Direwolves and their humans moving in perfect sychronizon. One particulary unimpressed frost lynx lounges across a tree branch, glaring down at everyone beneath it like they are personally offending its existence. Further in the distance, Ironclad dragons train with their bondeds, bronze scales glimmering beneath the rising sun. Terrifying, but majestic. For a few silent moments, I simply watch. Because despite all else, I still love them. I always have, even though Aetherion Academy was not supposed to be my future.

“The one where systems fail. Governments collapse. Technology becomes uncontrollable. Human beings become dependent on things they cannot understand.” His expression remained calm. “Ascendant was designed to create someone capable of surviving that future.” I stared at him. “You created me because you thought the world would end?” “No.” His answer came immediately. “We created you because we knew it would.” The silence that followed was suffocating. I felt Fort move closer beside me. His presence kept me grounded. Without him, I wasn’t sure I would still be standing there. Because the truth was becoming something much bigger than my past.

Aphrodite stayed silent. Of course it was. Aria's soul didn't just belong to Earth anymore. She carried the marks of Eden and Zero, the hunger of the succubus bloodline, and the weight of divine lineage. Born of Aphrodite, molded by Athena, and shaped by the monarchy of Vaethea — queen vampire and newly ascended goddess — Aria was a convergence of too many powers. Mortal and not. Touched by lust, love, war, and royalty. She wasn't just bending the rules by existing. She was rewriting them.

She paused for a moment before saying, "Is that okay with everyone?" Voices of consent rang into her ears and she nodded, forgetting that they couldn't see her before continuing. "The Asura Tower is one of the most protected and strongest fort. It has a higher advantage over us in terms of players since they will be on the defense. Most of their vanguards are knights are VIP 5 players. It won't be that hard for them to get rid of us if we don't play with a different technique. So, no rush. We will chew them out from their lowest force defense. The attic. They won't be expecting such approach if we're quick enough, we should be able to annex half of the tower in thirty minutes –"
