I turned on my combat boots and marched toward the back of the warehouse, where the Reapers had set up a lounge of mismatched leather sofas and crates.
Asher was leaning against a pillar, watching the scene with a dark, cynical grin. He held out a hand as I approached, pulling me into the space between his knees.
"The shark got caught in the net, I see," Asher rumbled, his good arm wrapping around my waist to anchor me against him.
"The shark is being a polite idiot," I snapped, looking back to see Jax and Sloane swaying to a slow track. She was pressed against him, her head tucked under his chin, looking every bit like the Manhattan royalty she was.
