A meteorite could strike the earth, nothing was going to stop me. My disappointment knew no bounds when I felt her body pulled away from mine. I had been so charmed not to have noticed that my Beta bodyguard( he’d come after me when he sensed the panic in my mind), and the two bartenders were also after the rogues. They dragged her away from me. My wolf wailed. Their canines were all bared, ready to rip off the living daylight out of their victim. ‘Hey! What was that?’ Kylian, my bodyguard asked. His brows were tensed.

A silence worse than deafening. “You are only still alive because I like you. You have failed twice already. Even the first time, I could kill you but I let you go. You may try killing me again and at the point when you are done lying to yourself that the reason you keep trying to assassinate me is not to see me and let me hold you however slightly.” He says without looking up from the newspaper, one would think he just read the lines from the paper he is reading. “Were you always a wolf? You were never human, right?” I ask and he goes silent on me again.

SUNDAY EVENING, LOTUS HEADQUARTERS Several wolves circled the alpha in the center of the arena, mapping out their steps and timing their attacks. As others lay on the sidelines in exhaustion, Victor moved about in anticipation of attacks with infinite energy; vigor running high. Signaling for three to come forward, he dodged the first with a sidestep, the next with a bob and weave that left her neck open, and the third with a jump forward. Getting around them, he nipped them each in vital take down points, which tapped them out and sent them to do ten laps around the field.

I’m not technically her rider, but I am her mate, and so I had done what I could do to show her that she’s mine, no matter what. When I had stripped her down, I’d seen the burn marks, the bruises. I didn’t say anything to her and I didn’t say anything to Avani when we found the dead witch and warlock beheaded the next day, but I’m pretty sure I’ve found my assassin. It’s my mate.

She said and I wasn't surprised. I knew she was wasn't a regular person. I knew she was up to something. I knew she knew too much for her own good. "I am a free assassin," She said and it all made sense. Free assassin never worked or belonged to a clan, they get hired to work for an important mission and after that they are discarded even if the Mission failed. They had an immortality card. "I would not kill Mason if you tell me where my child is," I said and she nodded her head slightly.

The assassins were already inside my chambers. For one terrible second, I could not move. There were too many of them. Their faces were covered, their weapons drawn, and every one of them was watching me. Then my wolf growled. Run. No. Fight. The first assassin lunged. I moved before I even thought. His blade passed beside my face. I caught his wrist and twisted hard. He cried out. I drove my shoulder into his chest and sent him crashing into the wall.

He said trying to convince her. "What! I mean don't you think it's too early." Annie said looking tensed "It's okay they would have to accept my choice because I have given my heart to you already," Jessie said with confidence. Jessie was also a werewolf from the black moon pack, his father is the alpha of the pack. Jessie was raised in a wild way his dad would always say to him "you are the son of an alpha and one day you will rule over when am no longer alive. And in other for you to be able to govern your people, you need to be wild my son".

“Then I guess we better give him what he wants. Rogue, take out the needles.” Rogue gives me a knowing smile before he opens up a satchel and removes several six-inch needles. The needles look like knitting needles, but instead of hooks at the end, they’re sharp and extremely painful. Rogue was the first Assassin that I brought on when I became the South American Board Director. The first thing I taught Rogue was how to use the needles for the purpose of torture. I use the needles to dig them into vital organs, which causes slow, excruciating pain to run through my victim’s nervous systems. It’s a very painful way to die. Rogue prefers to use a gun, but I enjoy my needles.

The assassin twisted, deflected, countered—every move honed from years of deadly training. Lena’s wolf surged again, intercepting a second assassin trying to flank Kade. Her teeth found their mark in the man’s side; he collapsed, convulsing. The air was filled with growls, shouts, the clash of steel on clawed hands, and the scent of iron and pine.

His gaze locked on mine as he lunged straight for me with a snarl, his blade right in front of my eyes. Isaak moved, shifting mid step, bones cracking, fur tearing through skin in a violent blur that filled the corridor with the sound of breaking and snarling. His wolf hit the assassin in midair, jaws snapping shut around the man’s shoulder, dragging him down with a force that rattled the stone beneath our feet. His wolf tore into him without hesitation, teeth crushing bone, snarls ripping from Isaak’s chest as instinct took over. The assassin screamed once, then choked, then went limp beneath the weight of the Alpha.
