I Want nothing to do with you at this moment . When I was done , I turned to the door and there he was staring at us . I could literally feel the beads of sweat break out of my head at that moment . I didn't know how long had been standing there but I don’t want to think that he heard everything .

Because there is a difference between a moment you fall into without deciding and a moment you stand in with full knowledge of what you are choosing. I knew exactly what I was choosing. I looked at Ray. He looked at me. And neither of us moved toward the door.

"When I climbed back in the window." "Yes," he says. "Did you know then?" I say. "What it was going to be." He is quiet for a moment. Honest quiet, the thinking kind. "I knew it was different," he says. "I knew the calculation was different from the moment you read the map and pointed north. I did not know what different was going to become." He pauses. "Did you?"

I could see the way his eyes squinted with confusion, but I knew what I wanted at that moment. I wanted him right beneath me.

There's a motive behind his decision. I knew. I knew that so well. Yet dumb me, I just replied, "10 pm. Meet me at my dorm. "

“I’m not letting anything happen to you.” But in that moment, as the pain intensified, I realized the truth. He still didn’t know it was me.
