The CEO Fierce Bodyguard
Gazing at me with those gentle eyes of his, Atlas sat down, took my hands in his, and said, “Even the strongest of people need someone to be there for them. Let me be that person for you.”
Those words made me second guess my thoughts for a moment. Then I pulled my hands out of his grip and said, “Thanks, but all I want to do is be your personal bodyguard.”
“No.”
“Atlas,”
“I said, ‘No.”
As he tried to stand up, I grabbed his wrist, stared him directly in his eyes, and pitifully mumbled, “Please give me at least one chance.”
“I'm not going to do that,” Atlas said, staring down at my hand.
