“Fine. Have a fun workout.” “Thanks, mom!” I wave at her before running out of the door. Since I got held up talking to my mother, I am running a bit late to our appointed meeting time that I had to jog a bit to the park. When I got there, Atticus is already sitting on one of the park benches while looking intently at his phone. He is wearing a blue-fit shirt that highlighted his arm muscles and his usual black jogging pants. His blonde is starting to get long and curling over his eyes, is pushed back by a headband, which shows his silver-blue eyes.

Atticus expressed his astonishment and met Kayson’s attack by sticking his chest out! Kayson’s palm landed on his chest and produced a thunder-like rumbling noise. The floor tiles underneath Atticus’ feet cracked right there and then. “Hmph…” Atticus looked at Kayson in slight disbelief, his face flushed. Atticus was blasted away, and his steelification failed him. A pit about the size of a fist appeared on his chest. Hendrick and the others shook in fear as they witnessed the scene in a daze. ‘A-Am I dreaming? Kayson crippled the man who beat the master to death with a few strikes!?’

"He's trying to control you! Fight it, Candice!" Out of nowhere, giant black shadows begin to take shape on every wall. I jerk Candice to my chest as I watch the grotesque creatures scamper in distorted motion, hissing as if communicating with one another. Impossibly, the shadows pull away from the walls as their blacker-than-black, animal-like figures begin surrounding us as, forming a connected circle. The distinct formation of a man appears in the center. Atticus. His eyes are now glowing red. "Did you actually think you could escape me?"

No girl in Ironside had captured my attention like Kodessa, and I was drawn to her by force I did not understand. As we entered the village gates, we heard a commotion. Our three-year brother Atticus came into view with our mother trailing behind. Atticus was completely nude, holding his beloved bear Tubbs in his left hand. “Atticus Grey, you stop right there”, Mother scolded as she bent down, trying to catch her breath. “Ha, gotcha “shrieked Fleki as he grabbed Atticus by the shoulder as swung him up onto hip. Tears flowed down Atticusś cheeks, and his bottom lip dropped, devastated by the fact his brother had captured and betrayed him.

When we reach the lobby, Link is trying to help Atticus stand, while Atticus continues to struggle between moving forward and punching. After trying, and failing, to land a solid punch, he falls to the floor with a sickening flop he lands face-first. Groaning, he attempts to sit up. "Just stay down, Man," Link tries to convince him, but Atticus is stubborn. "You're a moron if you think I'm going to let you steal Liliana away!" Atticus sputters, his speech slurred. "She's my girl...I mean friend, and I'm going to protect her from sleazeballs like you."

They occupy rows of pews and there is a small platform with a bench I’m assuming is where I will stand in front of the guests once I take the oath as future Luna of the Greenway Pack. My heart makes a somersaults when I spot Atticus, he looks so manly and handsome in a black tux. When our eyes lock I notice there is sadness in his eyes but before I can react he's demeanor changes and I smile stretched on his lips. It’s rare to see him smile from ear to ear like this, dimples form when he puts on a happy face. I don’t dare to tease him in case he doesn’t want to show me this tender side of him again.

Sawyer hissed and cursed colorfully. "I only know the area of land it is on, not the actual location," he said bitterly. Shaking my head I exhaled. "Get me close and I will shift and let Cota sniff Raija out and tell me how to fight against a fairy," I asserted and was taken back when he started to smile. Tilting my head at him, Sawyer raised his hands before himself in surrender and said, "Atticus isn't a real fairy I just embellished for Raija. He is just a scary powerful necromancer."

Cains POV I sniff the air trying to find them and when I catch their scent it hits me. ‘Atticus! I know what’s wrong with her!’ I mind link him. ‘What?!’ He rushes out. ‘She’s in heat!’ I yell out. ‘Then why the hell is she attacking me?’ He questions. ‘That I’m not sure but I’m almost there.’ Running through the forest I finally see them just as Zara lunges at Atticus. He wasn’t expecting it so she managed to latch on to his shoulder causing him to howl in pain.

My sickness wasn’t even obvious anymore, not with the way cheeks were flushed, my lips slightly parted, and my eyes—gods, they looked wild. Nervous. Hungry. I closed my eyes, exhaling shakily as I tried to steel myself. Atticus had been on the phone with Kai when I came in here, so by now, he was probably done. He’s probably waiting for you. That was my wolf. The thought made my stomach flip. Shaking my head, I pushed open the bathroom door and stepped into the bedroom. Atticus stood by the window, shirtless, his broad shoulders catching the faint light from the moon filtering in through the curtains. Atticus said as he reached the end of the aisle and opened the last doors. Atticus's heart broke when he stepped into the cell at the end of the aisle and saw an Omega dragon unconscious. He carefully picked him up and gently draped him over his shoulder before walking into the cell across from that one. He picked up as many as he could and carried them out of the building. It took him many trips, but he didn't stop until he had each and every one of his people out of those cells and lying in the grass, away from the building.
