ACE I was furious, my heart was beating so fast it was a miracle that it couldn't be heard from the gate. No one speaks to Aella that way, no one is allowed to talk about her. They don't know what it took me to bring her here, they don't know how much I hated sharing her with humans.

Part Five- Late August brought a power outage, a burst pipe, two flatbed breakdowns, and one county fair all in the same week. Rae thrived under pressure. Mason knew this because she became terrifyingly efficient. Clipboard in hand. Hair pinned up with a pencil. Voice sharp enough to cut wire. He watched her direct vendors, comfort a crying teenager whose truck overheated, and fix a register jam in under three minutes. Then she marched into the bay. “You ate my yogurt.” He blinked.

All she could do was smile at her husband even when the only thing she wanted to do was saying no. *** Two months, it took solid two months to take an appointment with that man. Not that Eva was bothered with that or anything. She didn’t even try visiting his accounts on social media as she just wanted to be done with all that and not be involved as much as she can. Big mistake. If she did she would have known what was waiting her and who she was going to meet in a few minutes. "He is here, Mrs. Angelos." Michel informed her after knocking on her door.

All that was there were his serious eyes and perfect face. He leaned in closer and | could smell his breath. It smelled like rain and mint gum. | was breathing heavily now, my heart pounding harder and harder. His eyes were trained solely on my lips, then wandered back to my eyes. His lips brushed lightly against mine and | sucked in a breath, my lips tingling. | suddenly tilted my head sideways and looked away from him. Pushing his body away, | got up hurriedly and stepped out of the ring. "Where are you going?" he asked, climbing down after me.

I accepted it as I stared at him suspiciously. “What is it?” I asked as August smiled. “Open it.” I opened the little box and gasped at the beauty of the little pendant in the box. “August you shouldn’t have.” “I had to. I needed something to remind me whenever I am not around.” He said as his eyes softened. The pendant was a heart shape with a red precious stone inside it. I looked closer and roughly saw something engraved in it. “August and Callisto. I love it.” I said as I smiled back with sincerity. “Thank you.”

Lorenzo’s POV “Did you think you were too mighty to beg?” Augustine said, his hand gripping my neck so tightly. I didn’t utter a word nor plead for him to let go. I knew better not to beg; in our world, begging makes you weak. It makes you accept defeat, and I am not going to accept defeat, not now, not ever. I stretched my hand to reach for his chest, to reach for the area where his artificial heart is placed. Maybe a pain in his chest would buy me more time, but before I could reach for his heart, his hand grabbed mine, breaking my wrist.
