Alex had seen him plenty of times, fixing pipes shirtless in the basement, collecting rent in fitted black shirts that hugged his broad chest and thick arms, or just standing in the lobby like he owned the air itself. Alex wiped his sweaty palms on his gray sweatpants and cracked the door, leaving the chain on. Kane filled the frame like a wall of muscle and authority. Late thirties, maybe early forties, with short dark hair streaked with silver at the temples, a trimmed beard, and eyes the color of strong coffee. He wore a black button-down with the sleeves rolled up, exposing veined forearms corded with muscle, and dark jeans that did nothing to hide the powerful thighs beneath.

My gaze flitted over him, taking in his wet hair sticking up, and the small towel slunged around his shoulders was almost an afterthought. His gray eyes interrupted my perusal of his body, and he smirked when he realized.

It made me want to retch again, but for a very different reason. He looked… god, he looked unreal. I had almost never seen Aiden dressed so casually. His black athletic shorts clung to his thighs, strong and tanned and corded with lean muscle. A matching black sleeveless tank sat perfectly on his torso, the fabric clinging to his abdomen in all the right places. His arms, carved like they belonged in some kind of mythological fresco, flexed each time he poured lemonade. His black hair was messily slicked back, like he’d run his hands through it out of frustration—or maybe sweat.

Now it was my turn to stare and swallow hard. “Then let’s warm you up,” Kaiden said, pulling me against him.

It's already open. Kane comes inside, taking lazy steps. His body looks clumsy and drained. Gulping down with the flashes of that moment, I squirm onto the bed, keeping my eyes on him. I can't stop staring at this face. He looks hell tired. I heard him talking to someone about work. He must be there. He doesn't look at it and removes his watch and tosses the wallet aside. In a yank, he unbuttons his shirt and tosses that too. Only keeping the boxers on, he heads to the bed and I give him some space to sleep.

I instructed with a grin, biting my lip as they turned to look at me and staked towards me, pulling me to my feet and taking turns giving me slow loving kisses. “Then fair is fair darling. You lose the big baggy shirt and bra and stay in your jeans and just a tank top. A tight one. Let us see you. Oh and no panties either.” Magnus grinned as he pulled the shirt off of me. I smirked and undid my bra, handing it to Kane before going back to the closet and coming out in a black spaghetti strap tank that came just below my belly button. My jeans were old and well-worn and sat right at my hips so when I took off my panties I felt exposed while still being comfortable.

“Thank you, Stanley, you look really good too. I think the colour of your shirt is lovely, since you know, it’s actually a colour. I love it.” I can’t help the jab I send at Austin. They break out into chuckles over it. He’s in a warm camel or probably tan button-down shirt with the sleeves casually rolled up and the collar open. He’s in slim-fitted black trousers, a simple black belt, and black dress shoes, a wristwatch, and a simple gold necklace. He looks nice, and I appreciate the effort that he, in fact, all of them put into looking good.

I checked height, body fat percentage, pulse rate. One by one, they came and went. But as the day went on, I noticed something. Austin still hadn’t come. I tried not to think too much. Maybe he was busy. Maybe he was avoiding me. Still, my fingers fidgeted with the corner of my clipboard. Finally, just as I was about to head back to the office, Austin stepped in. He wasn’t wearing a shirt. My jaw nearly dropped at the display before me. His chest was broad, shoulders strong, with clear muscle lines running down to his waist. His body was like something out of a sports magazine. I didn’t want to stare, but my eyes had their own ideas. I quickly looked down at my paper, trying to act calm.

Marcos loved making fun of that but she would just smack him upside the head and call him a jerk. She knocked softly, knowing he’d probably heard her arrive with his super shifter hearing anyway. Not a minute later, Kane opened the door and she forgot how to breathe. He’d dressed up. For her. It was like something out of a movie. He’d put on a nice perfectly pressed black dress shirt and slacks. Gone were his well-worn and sometimes torn jeans that hugged his ass better than should be legal. His usual T-shirts were gone and the dress shirt sleeves were rolled up showing impressive forearms.

Austin clarifies. As we take our seats, Mr. Jones clears his throat and distributes packets to everyone. I'm trying to pay attention to what he's saying, but my eyes keep drifting over to Austin, who's dressed in a tank top, a jean jacket, and a long skirt with a slit up the side. She's got a cast on her foot, so she's wearing these plain white sneakers, but somehow it all looks really put together. Her hair is in a high ponytail, and she's barely wearing any makeup, but she looks stunning. I don't know how she does it.
