Looking up at me from her upside-down position, Blanca's eyes met mine. I refrained from smiling amidst the pandemonium, but there was no denying that Blanca always managed to make life interesting. Out of all the Johnson kids, she and I had a special bond. On my twenty-fifth birthday, she had written an Avengers fanfiction where Bucky Barnes and Captain America were more than just friends. It had been entertaining as hell. "Blanca, are you ready to go?" I asked her, trying to maintain a composed demeanor in the midst of the chaos.

The air feels too hot. Too close. Peter goes quiet behind us. Watching. “Then what would you do?” I whisper. His thumb presses slightly harder under my chin. “I’d drag you somewhere safe. Lock the door. And never let you out of my sight.” My heart nearly explodes. Possessive. Raw. Honest. “Because I don’t push you away,” he adds quietly. “I protect what’s mine.” Mine. That word. It wrecks me. Peter coughs loudly. “Well. That’s… intense.”

Damn made a growling motion toward Peter as he approached, and Elevena ran up behind him yelling for him to stop. Peter laughed and put his finger on the trigger in preparation to pull the trigger, but Elevena quickly moved in front of Blacky and yelled, "Get back!" "Never give up! Please don't kill him. I will do anything and everything you ask of me, but please don't kill him!" Peter had his finger on the trigger of his gun when Elevena yelled at him to put it down. She was acting as a shield for Blacky by standing in front of him and protecting him.

She wanted to escape back to her room, but Bucky pulled her hand back; the force was so strong that she couldn't resist, and her wrist was about to be broken by Bucky. Eloise felt that Bucky could kill her at any moment. She was so scared that her whole body went limp. Suddenly, she cried out: "I'm your sister, why are you so fierce to me?" Eloise's cry woke Genevieve up; a moment later, even her grandfather woke up. "What's wrong? Bucky, why are you bullying your sister?" Seeing Genevieve coming, Eloise felt like she saw a savior. She quickly hid behind Genevieve, but after taking two steps, she was pulled back by Bucky.

I stroked the hairs on his chest while I said, “I’m afraid, William. I fear not surviving the shift.” He sighs, as he said, “I know, doll. We all share the same fear. That’s why Peter and Parker didn’t want to come. They were afraid of his reaction to seeing you in so much pain. They were afraid of what they would do if they saw you suffer. I can manage my emotions better than them.” Concern washed over me as I said, “Are they sheltered?” “They’ll be fine, doll. Part of the guard stayed with them, protecting Maddie. Our men are also taking care of them.”

“It’ll rot inside you because she’ll never see you as anything more.” Peter’s jaw tightened dangerously. “You already lost this game before it even started.” Peter suddenly tried charging at him again, but Ava immediately wrapped both arms around him tightly, holding him back with trembling hands. “Please, Peter,” she begged tearfully. “Don’t stoop to his level.” Her voice cracked weakly. “Please… let’s just leave.”

Then he started talking again, his voice becoming more animated. "You know, Jasper was just like Dad," Peter said. "He always looked out for us all. He never allowed anyone to bully any of us. And Williams... after he watched how they once bullied me when we were younger, he vowed not to allow anyone to hurt our family again. That's when his intention of being a military man started. He wanted to be strong enough to protect us." I listened, feeling my heart swell with the knowledge of their love. "And then there's Dickson," Peter continued. "That guy has saved my life more times than I can count. And Kyle... Kyle has done the same. They've both been there for all of us."

Peter took his jacket and swiftly walked across the room. "What the fuck, Peter! where do think you're going?" Paolo grabbed his hand harshly and tugged him away from the door. "I can't, I can't get her into trouble. She's been through so much! This one is on me!" Peter started falling apart. "Baby, I got you. She'll be safe. I promised." Peter took comfort in his arms, Paolo loves him too much to see him blaming himself. He took Peter's jacket and put it on the couch.

He was very quick as he had vampire speed. Christopher lowered his chin immediately to protect his neck and quickly locked on to Peter’s offending arm. ‘’That’s enough guys’’ I said but neither of them listened. Something inside me was telling me to protect Christopher even though my mind knew that he was not in any real danger. Without even realizing it I had them both pined to two different trees that were in front of me. One side of me was very protective of Christopher.

That spot is now mine. Marvel is going to make a strong alpha one day, just like me. Everyone keeps saying he is Valentine’s spitting image, but I know he actually looks more like me. Acts more like me too. I don’t think Valentine was as fierce or protective as this kid. Maybe towards Courtney, who was always his best friend growing up, but Marvel’s protectiveness over his mother is on a different level. Probably learned a bit of that from Lucy here. Lucy threatened me quite a bit back in the day too. Marvel definitely has an alpha’s dominance and his possessiveness when it comes to Vivian. When the kid finds his mate, she will have her hands full reigning him in.
