Then his aura flared—dark green tendrils ripping out of the earth and slamming me into a pillar of ice. My bones shook. And he pinned me there, hand raised— Until the sky flashed gold. Wanda shot downward like a comet. Light spiraled around her wings as she fired bolts of holy mana at Vaelen. “Step away from him!” she shouted. Vaelen clicked his tongue and released me, blocking her attack with a mana shield. “You kids never learn when to quit,” he said. “And you never learn not to mess with my friends,” Wanda snapped back. She hovered, blasting him again, forcing him to block repeatedly—each hit pushing him an inch.

I bring out a paper from my pocket and hand it to him, a brown skinned woman with long braids smiling. “Damn Alisha, are you following these people?” there’s horror all over his face. “Stalking is a punishable offense.” I wave my hand to dismiss whatever topic is brewing in his head. “I want to eliminate Wanda first; do you think you can do it as soon as possible?” At first he looks uncomfortable, but then he shoves both the paper containing the names and addresses, with the wrinkled photograph into his pocket. “Whatever,” I feel guilty lying to him but the real reason why I want Wanda dead is because she’s friends with Arya, and perhaps if her dear friend gets injured, Arya and Devon will r

“I want to learn to defend myself if needed. I want to be able to protect Wren.” “This isn’t just normal training, Hannah. This is Alpha and Gamma training. They are hot-headed, untamable, and vicious wolves. It’ll be too dangerous, and I don’t want you around that kind of thing.” “I have you to protect me,” I said sweetly with a smirk; I was hoping he would see the slight humor in my face and relax a little bit. He narrowed his eyes at me, but I could tell he was trying to fight a smile. “You could still get hurt and I would never forgive myself if anything were to happen to you.” There was finality in his tone.

She starts to bawl. The lump in my throat tightens. I take a step closer and I find my hand reaching out for hers. Wanda quickly grabs them, her now chipped nails digging into my skin. “But why would he say you were dangerous?” Wanda flinches. “Because I didn’t tell him everything. I was afraid. Afraid of what he’d do if he knew I cared more about your peace than his war.” I hear footsteps. The sound of heels, sharp and strong. The steps grow louder and closer. Quickly, I turn.

I stroked the hairs on his chest while I said, “I’m afraid, William. I fear not surviving the shift.” He sighs, as he said, “I know, doll. We all share the same fear. That’s why Peter and Parker didn’t want to come. They were afraid of his reaction to seeing you in so much pain. They were afraid of what they would do if they saw you suffer. I can manage my emotions better than them.” Concern washed over me as I said, “Are they sheltered?” “They’ll be fine, doll. Part of the guard stayed with them, protecting Maddie. Our men are also taking care of them.”

Peter Sitting alone, surrounded by werewolves was proving stressful for me. I was forever being watched. No privacy, no way of escape. I felt like a prisoner once again. But as soon as I thought about what Jake had said, a slight relief came to my heart. I knew I could trust him. He had always loved Sandra and anything that seemed important to her, he would protect it.

And if there's any reason I see Ava in her, it's because she looks so innocent, and to top it all, she's a virgin. My pack members know how much I love a virgin, and now this idiot whom I was only being nice to because of how his father had laid down his life for the Mooner's pack, my pack is preventing me from having her in my bed? "Alpha, can we get another person for you?" Peter pleaded. "I don't understand. What are you saying? Are you trying to change my orders?!" I shrieked, pulling her towards me. "I'm having this lady in my bed tonight, and that's final!" I shouted, and two guards entered immediately.

I couldn't protect Friska, who had helped me and ensured the crazy man didn't catch Corvina. 'Lavanya! Please, wake up. You are fine now and forever. Tayron and Zion will protect you. Don't worry about anything.' My wolf screamed again. Tayron and Zion, they're going to protect me, but if they find out what happened to me while I was there. I was unsure and afraid they would throw me away. I'm a bitch. 'Lavanya. Please, you are not a bitch. Don't think of yourself like that.' My wolf was crying, and her voice was shaking violently.

“I've already made a decision, and therefore, you follow orders. Eloise and her brother not only have asylum in this pack, but they also have my protection, and I will defend them from anyone.” My heart stopped at that moment. “Why the hell are you defending that woman?” Nalia asked. “I understand that you want to take care of the child, but not her. We don't know if she's dangerous, if—” Alondra growled, furious at Nalia's remark. “Shut your mouth,” said the Alpha. “And don't you ever say something like that again; I forbid it.” “I can't believe you're undermining me for her,” Nalia said indignantly.

Javed whispers, as he twirls my hair in his fingers. “She can shift and you can ask her yourself,” I offer, as he smiles. “I guess we’ll all be midnight protectors of the dead then. I don’t know how it came to be that shifters protected the slumbering criminal vampires, but it should probably be vampires,” he says, looking thoughtful. “Can I get like a sheriff’s badge,” I ask, wiggling my eyebrows. He laughs. “Do I ever tell you no, my sweet,” he asks, as he kisses me.
