So baring with me and sticking it out, means more to me than you could possibly imagine. Second, I want to say this is not the end. This is an intermission. A break or hiatus if you want to call it. With updates being so scarce, I’m sure you’re thinking that I should have done this earlier. And maybe I should have. I wanted to push and get to a point though where I felt okay and not like I was going to regret stepping away for a moment. So far, this story has 125 chapters. That is my second longest (behind Shift) and we currently have 252,800 words. That is nuts! That’s more than Twilight and New Moon combined! Hahaha!

Hi there, readers! I have a question I would like to ask all of you. If you've read any of my previous books, you'll note that my chapters aren't really that long. I've wanted to keep these chapters in short bursts like I did with Nikolai and Dimitri's book, but I am finding that there's just too much happening with Umiko and Fenriz that it is impossible to keep the chapters short. The reason why I used to keep my chapters below 2k words is because the more words I write per chapter, the more you pay to unlock them.

So gentlewolves (this is my nickname for my readers. I just came up with it, what do you my gentlewolves think?) So on to the reason why I am writing this note before the start of the chapter... I was wondering that maybe my chapters are too long So I'll be making it shorter Now instead of the 1k+ words I usually write I'll be writing 600-700 words from now till further notice That is if you my gentlewolves are happy with it

POV: MARA KADE The statement takes me two hours and fourteen pages. I know the length because I count the pages when I finish. Not from pride. From the particular exhaustion that comes after putting something down in writing that you have carried in your body for a long time. The kind of exhaustion that feels like relief wearing a heavy coat. I write everything.

My chapters had always been from 1500 words to 2500 words, and sometimes I write longer when i feel like it's needed to be written longer in a chapter otherwise my minimum words had always been 1500 words and then go on. Whenever I write short chapter like shorter than 1500 words I always mention in my author note and apologise for it, but last chapter was 1600 words and this one is 2100 words.

I like making my chapters at least 3k words because I pack a lot into one chapter and I am unable to do that with a word limit of 1500-2k (to keep my chapters affordable I need to keep them between that word count). This story is dragging on because I'm trying to figure out how to keep it at a good pace while also keeping the chapters short and sweet. I'm afraid I'll either make the story too fast or as I am making it now, too slow. I am unable to find a healthy balance and this story is starting to become more of a burden than a joy like it originally is supposed to be.

Mine: nine to ten. I stood with my coffee cup and looked at it. I looked at it for longer than twelve seconds. The document did not change under extended examination. It remained what it was: one page, two time windows, a sentence about household routines. Very clean. Very considered. The kind of document that had been composed by a person who had sat somewhere with a blank page and made a decision about what needed to be on it and had put exactly that on it and printed it and placed it on the counter.

Hi there, First of all, I want to say thank you to all the readers for being along on this journey with Clary. I love this book and the characters feel so real to me, they really matter to me. I am an international student that has to juggle school, social life, and taking care of my three nephews; so if I don't post for a day or two, I hope there is some compassion and understanding. As for the length of the book, I saw that someone complained that it was too long. Have you seen other books on this app? I have a set plan and plot for this novel and will not rush it.
