She shuddered.

Penetrating the deep darkness inside that room, the first ray of light entered through the glass window and fell on her closed eyes which made her to slowly move her eyelids and then opened her lashes. Her beige hazel eyes came in contact with that shiny morning light which made her to blink her lashes for clearing her vision. A soft yawn escaped from her mouth and then she slightly tossed around but her eyes got widened when they fell on that mirror ceiling above her which was showing her entire reflection but the thing that caught her attention was the place which was completely empty beside her.

Briella’s eyelashes twitched as she slowly opened her eyes. Chairman Blake was startled. “Luna… Did you stay up all night?” Red veins threaded through her tired eyes. The exhaustion and dark circles couldn’t be hidden. Briella looked away, voice soft and calm, “I didn’t sleep.” Then she shifted her gaze. “What about you—care to explain?”

“I’m Becca Oberto. It’s nice to meet you.” Brawn turned his attention her way again and she stared up into the darkest blue eyes she’d ever seen. They reminded her of a night sky, so dark, but with just a hint enough of blue to be striking. His eyelashes were extraordinarily long and black, matching his hair. The feline shape of his eyes was remarkable and beautiful. His irises weren’t round like a human’s. They were oval, similar to a cat’s and they were breathtaking. She was so caught up in studying his features that she didn’t notice anything was wrong until he smiled and amusement sparked in his gaze before he glanced down.
