Within a blink of an eye, the vampire leader had the beta by the throat choking him. The other two vampires were already on the gamma pouncing on him. There was no one to help the others and they could not even send a mind link to the warriors outside. Within minutes half the furniture in the packhouse was broken in half. The battle inside was brutal, the beta and gamma could hold their own as they were of the higher ranks and were more skilled in battle.

Now the only way to get to Arthur was to knock Rey out first. "Rey, I'll try not to hurt you, but if I do, don't blame me," I said inwardly. After debating it, I turned and rushed towards him. I sent him flying with a heavy punch. Even if he was now a puppet, there would still be physical limits, right? I condensed blood energy, and a large group of bats surrounded me. Then I raised my hand and pointed, the bats transforming into a black torrent that flew at him.

“But I promise you will be.” I punched him in the face and felt the bones in his nose break under my knuckles. He screamed, blood oozing from his nostrils. I leaned over him again, punching his face harder, savoring the crack of bone under my fist. His screams filled the night and I basked in his terror. My fists dripped red as the fucker wailed like a dying beast. A gust of wind stirred the trash littering the alley. The sweet-spicy scent of an omega blooming into heat tickled my nose, and I paused mid-punch.

Don’t tell me he’s going to end up dead in a dark alley like in the original book. [Come on, supporting character! Don’t give up. You still have a bright future!] The pain in my body grew numb. Being beaten was something I had grown used to. Ever since I was little, whenever my mom had a bad day, she would hit me without warning. Sometimes, both my parents would beat me for fun. My body was covered in scars, but now I felt no pain. I was waiting for the right moment, after all. A moment to completely turn the tables.

Tony “What is this dude made of?!”, I shout angrily as my fifth bat shatters in his palm. He teleports behind me in and in one swift motion, he kicked me to the ground. Damn. I haven’t been able to land one hit since we started fighting. His control over space made that pretty hard. I couldn’t get close to him before the space between us stretched and I was immediately back where I started.

The man shouted that until now I still don't care about its name. I don't know whether to be happy or nervous. Yes, Cayden will be my opponent, he's on my side but at the same time, we're pretending! Will it make our fight come true? Fuck! I admit that it's not inferior to me, with a huge gap. But it's up to Batman. Cayden and I walked toward the ring. I'll just pray that the damage won't be serious because I might end up in the hospital the next time I open my eyes.

I still couldn't believe we kissed. I heard noises coming from outside my window. Okay don't panic. It might be a squirrel or Phoenix. I grabbed a bat that was under my bed and waited for wherever it was to attack it. A few seconds later the window opened and in walked none other than.. "Really, a bat?" Mallory asked. "I though you were a thief or an animal ready to eat me." I said as I put the bat under my bed. "The only one who will eat you is my brother." She smirked.

' Butt yelled in his thought. They're fighting in thoughts! Just as what he just guessed! That expression of this bat is telling him not to trust him! 'His mocking face is telling me that he got a bad motive! I dodge him because I wanted to know. And this is true! He's a con! 'He's a Con-animal!' Status: Think this out self/ Don't be fooled. 'For so long I did not find any normal person here! Am I the only normal here and the coolest handsome? First those Orangutans, they beat me up, tied me up, and now this shameless bat!' He thought.

One down, but there wasn’t time to savor it. The second man was faster, more experienced. He swung at me with a baton, aiming for my head. I ducked low, feeling the wind of his strike as it barely missed my face. Quickly, I spun, sweeping his legs out from under him. He hit the ground hard, and I was on him before he could recover. My claws slashed across his wrist, forcing him to release the baton. I grabbed it and smashed it across his face, knocking him out cold.

“Yeah! Like a superhero! Mommy says Daddy is strong, but I’ve never seen you.” I chuckled. “I don’t fight like a superhero, Max. But I used to play hockey, and that takes a lot of strength.” Max seemed to think about that for a moment, then asked, “So, if you fought Batman, who would win?” I almost choked laughing. I rubbed my chin, pretending to think. “Hmm... maybe Batman would win. He has more gadgets.” Max immediately snorted, like I had just said something very dumb. “You need more practice. If not, you can’t protect Mommy!”
