Mistaken Identity
She turned towards the place he had pointed, and noticed a tiny Batman figurine stood in the corner, perched on the base near the radio.
“That’s Batman, right?” Kael repeated, this time in a higher voice.
Laurel blinked in surprise. She had expected Kael to stay completely withdrawn. Yet here he was, talking. And to a stranger. He knew not to talk to a stranger, she had drilled that in him before he even clocked five.
Nolan chuckled from his seat, glancing at the figurine in the dashboard. “Sharp eyes,” he said with a smile. “Yeah, that’s Batman. But he’s not my favorite.”
