I barked instructions like I knew what to do but really, I am floundering. Callum groaned and in the harsh white lighting of the cellar I grimaced as I checked out his injuries. He had a wound in his abdomen that just oozes blood. The room smelt of meat and iron, like a butcher’s counter. How long had he lain like this? How long have Jacob and I dozed beside him unconscious whilst his life ebbed away? Tears stung my eyes as I cradled him whilst the thunderous sounds of Jacob pummelling the door.

Mason I yelled, “Leave me alone!” as the sharp knife sliced along my arm, causing me to scream in agony. Damien yanked the knife out, and blood gushed from the wound. “Let's get down to business,” he growled. I whimpered in fear and pain, the bravery and tough facade that I once had were gone. My body trembles uncontrollably, tears blurring my vision as I gaze in terror at my bleeding arm. The sight of my own blood sends a fresh wave of fear coursing through me, and I find it hard to maintain a semblance of composure anymore.
