“You had fun.” “I hate that you’re right.” “Mmhm.” The rest of the day turns into a blur of games, terrible carnival food, and Greg spending an unreasonable amount of money trying to win me an oversized stuffed bear. “You know you can just buy one, right?” I ask. “That’s quitter talk.” Twenty minutes later, he finally wins after aggressively dominating a basketball game booth. Greg hands me the ridiculously giant bear proudly. “There. Victory.” I stare at the thing. “This is bigger than me.”

A moment later, the door opened and two pack members entered, struggling with something large. My eyes widened as they brought a huge, light pink, fluffy teddy bear into the room. It was enormous, nearly as tall as I was, its soft fur practically begging to be hugged. I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face. The sight of the giant teddy bear, so out of place yet so perfect, filled me with a warmth I hadn't felt in months. It was a simple, sweet gesture, but it touched me deeply.

"You always did have poor taste in friends." I tossed the grungy stuffed animal back at her. "You should get rid of it. That bear should have a biohazard warning on it."

Her head bobbing repeatedly, he lasted a little longer than the other two, but in the end, filled her mouth just the same. Bear had stood then and proceeded to get dressed. "I gotta get going," he said. He moved over and hugged Alex tightly. "You are the coolest chick ever," he said. "Thank you again, Alex." "You're very welcome, Bear," she answered. "I like making you guys happy." He disappeared out the door as the other two got dressed. Alex gathered her things and said her goodbyes, intending to leave as well. "Catch you guys at school tomorrow," she said, smiling and waving.

He keeps his hand on my back as Sawyer bends down and kisses me. I lean into his lips to the soundtrack of shocked gasps. When I straighten, a few old ladies are hustling away, mouths open and eyes round. “Sounds good,” I tell him and wave his Jeep off. Bear hovers at my elbow, a giant James Bond. I have no idea where he’d find a tux in his size. Maybe Auntie Jen will know. I pivot slowly, hearing the ending movie credits music start to play.
