Sable I barely slept. It wasn’t for lack of trying. I’d shut my eyes, rolled onto my side, even shoved my face into the pillow at one point like that might block out everything running through my head. Didn’t work. Because every time I got close to drifting off, there it was again. Kimberly’s laugh. Light. Breathless. Constant. Carrying through the hallway like it had no business being that loud. Or that frequent. I stared up at the ceiling sometime around what had to be three in the morning, my eyes burning, my patience gone.

I hurried up because I am usually slow when getting ready. I need to hurry because they might start arriving one by one. Our theme for this slumber party is Cozy Chic: a pair of silk, pastel-colored pajamas, or anything made of breathable fabric. This is my chance to bond with Meli, her cousins, and friends. I’ve been excited for this for a while now. I just took a shower to freshen up. After I showered, I could already hear noises downstairs, as well as the sound of the doorbell ringing.

We went straight to the TV room, collapsed into the couches, and tore into the food like wolves who hadn’t eaten in a week—which, honestly, wasn’t far off. The kids climbed all over us, tired but giddy. The words “slumber party” had them buzzing with excitement—especially since the adults were in on it too. But as I finished eating, a knot formed in my stomach.

He would fight this, but it was a battle that he would not win. “Anyone who is available after supper is cordially invited to a big slumber party. Pajamas, snacks, movies, etc. We’ve all been working very hard and deserve a break,” she said. The kiddos all clapped their hands in excitement. Even Q looked excited, but I should not have anticipated any differently with him because he was a pup at heart. Plus, he was already wrapped around Doll’s finger. “Are pajamas necessary?” Ethan asked hesitantly.

Sophie says "I know. I'm sorry. I've been busy but I'm here all week. And then we get to have a slumber party. And daddy and bubba and Uncle Lance are gonna have a guys night. You, me and mommy are gonna go get our nails done and then go get some much junk food that it will make us sick and we are gonna pile up in my bed and watch movies all night" I tell her "Really?" She squeals I laugh and pick them both up.

She told me the same thing countless times already, seems like none of it is the real last time. “I can’t—” “Please, please, please,” she insisted then showed me her infamous puppy eyes. I sighed once again. “When’s the party?” I asked, defeated. “Eighteenth of July,” she enthusiastically answered. “Don’t worry, you won’t spend, not even a single penny, for your dress and makeup.” “Cross out the makeup thingy, I don’t want it nor need it,” I said. She clung her arms unto mine. “Just one night, Heizel. Please?”

My first sleepover at Liam's good lord I can't wait! After many episodes of Peppa pig and way too much pizza and chocolate buttons, Bella is fasto. While Liam takes her into his room to put her in her travel cot he bought her I stand by his huge living room window, the view is incredible, you can see the city from here, lit up by street lights and the stars.

I crawled back over to the cot and curled up into a tight ball. I tried as hard as I could to stay calm, but the panic was beginning to overwhelm me. I closed my eyes and began to hold my breath. Smother it out, I chanted in my head, Smother it out. The room felt like it was spinning, leaving me groggy. Unable to keep my eyes open, I drifted back to sleep. The second time I woke up was less confusing than the first. I hoped my eyes would have adjust to the darkness by now, but it was no use. There was not even the smallest sliver of light to help.
