Janeka took quick steps away from them, she couldn't concentrate because they were arguing about the best way to destroy the monster. She read meaning into every word she came across hungry to know more about this savage monster.

“What the bloody hell is that?” I moved away from Ryker, my eyes were solely fixated on the book. Wiping away the shattered glasses, I did not care if it would hurt me. Once it was clean, I read the book to Ryker. “It is the Book of The Damned.” All I wanted was to get a hold of that book and satisfy my curiosity but when I did, I could feel the power surging from the book, my hands were painfully attached to it. Then the book opened, forcing my palm to hold it up the pages started to flip rapidly. So many images flashed through my mind but none of which I recalled. The book slammed shut and I blinked. I turned to Ryker and swallowed before finding my voice to speak, “Did you see that?”

But now, watching the start of the hot metal structure rise towards him, knowing what was to follow, he knew that this was only the warm-up act; the brutality was still to come. And somewhere in Seattle, little did Amelia know that there was a storm building; she welcomes the day with open doors to another day in the life she has established on Bookmark Haven. A life that was, in fact, on the edge of being split into fragments, as she’ll soon find out.

I declared. Enzo glared at me, his eyes shooting bullets towards me. He opened his mouth but closed it again. I closed the book and set it beside me. As soon as I stood up I felt lightheaded and weak, having the sensation of spinning. My arms got really weak and my abdomen started twitching uncontrollably. I lost balance and almost collapsed but Enzo caught me. "I got you." He whispered as he picked me up and carried me upstairs bridal-style I smiled weakly. "Told you you won't hate me forever."
