Behind the White Walls
I took deep breaths, trying to steady my racing heart.
'It's all in the past, Zack. It's over,' I reassured myself.
I was still groggy when Janet dropped by.
I was not sure how long she was there, but the moment she noticed I was awake, she quickly got me a glass of water.
"Thanks," I murmured.
She then started to peel an apple for me, her hands fumbling a bit.
I had no clue why she was there, and neither of us broke the silence.
I just lay there, lost in thought.
