Keiran’s POV The bell was still trembling in my hand when I hit Beverly. The sound had not faded. Not really. It crawled through the square like something thin and sharp, sliding under the roar of fire, under the screams, under the clash of claws and steel, under the deep thunder of dragon wings beating above Vandwood. It should have been too small to matter in the middle of war, but the Wraith bell did not behave like ordinary metal. Its voice slipped into the wrong places.
