She moved out of the room and went to the door. She peered through the small gap on the door. Mary Ann was there. Betty opened the door. "Hi Betty," Mary Ann greeted with a bright smile on her face. "Hi Ann, come in." Betty stepped aside for Mary Ann to walk into her apartment. "So how was your visit to the agency? Did you meet that slut?" Mary Ann asked.

“Where did she go? You need to find her!” “I will. But we need the rejection if you’ve already decided.” “We can reject each other outside the arena.” “I want to mark Zoey.” She smiled widely, her face wet with tears, and nodded. “Do it then, Beta.” I didn’t waste any time and stared into Vicky’s eyes, hoping the Goddess would forgive me. “I, Beta Andrew Murphy of the Dark Crow Park, reject you, Lady Victoria…” “Santillan, Red River Pack.” She added.

“Is Addie dating Nick? I saw them together this morning,” Betty asked, piling up the clothes she’d picked for me, bragging that she’d got unlimited access to that black card. I frowned while pulling my belt back into place, feeling all tired scanning the formal attire I’d been sizing up for the last hour. Betty was ridiculously confident I’d get the job and apparently spend the rest of my antisocial life doing it so she’d bought me more than a dozen outfits.

“Come on,we don't want to keep them waiting.” I pressed the doorbell and waited for a while before Benny opened, a huge grin covering her face as she bent low. “Hi pretty girl, what's your name?” She asked as Ariel looked at me. “Go on, she's mummy's friend.” I said, smiling at her. “Ariel Jackson.” She said as I heard granny scream an “Ohhh.” We walked in and immediately Lucas mom picked Ariel up, kissing her cheeks. “She's so pretty, so so much.” Granny said, taking Ariel from Lucas mom.

He was laughing at me and I could only narrow my head in embarrassment. Beta Andrew took his clothes off. I kept my eyes narrowed, so I wouldn't see him. Though, the temptations had started to rise. Beta Andrew shifted into his wolf. I had been afraid of his wolf since I was eight. And I forgot about that fact. Tightening my fists, I took a few steps away from him. When I was eight, his wolf killed his own mate and children in cold blood one night. Ever since, beta had been alone. Well, until he got me. The archery kit was in front of me.

Archie rolled his eyes. Betty was Nate’s second cousin, so in her eyes she was invincible, although she didn’t have any formal title. She would spend her days torturing the students who came from Omega parents or those who were yet to access their Wolf. I often wondered how she and Nate came from the same families, but were so different. Sure Nate could be a royal pain, but he was also kind and compassionate. Olivia Steel, Daughter to Alpha Dominic and Luna Aubrey. And also this ones sister," I said gesturing to Jason. My mother would probably slap me silly right about now. She was the perfect picture of class. She was everything I wanted to be in a women. Strong, fierce, beautiful. I didn't know how it was possible,but I was more like my Uncle Mickey than my parents.

She settled back down but added, "I want to be all better when I meet the lady." After hearing that, her mother glanced up at her husband again. He stepped out of the room and turned to his assistant. "I need you to track someone down. From what Betty described, she's young and definitely practices the arcane. I don't care who she is—she just became our family's biggest hero."

Betty, who always acted so weak she couldn't even twist open a bottle cap, was now swirling a glass of red wine, looking down on me. "Well, look who it is. Our little charity case of a mafia princess." "Does it hurt, sister?" She ground the tip of her high heel into my ankle, her laughter echoing. "You really think brother is coming to save you? Dream on. He's busy picking out a dress for my book launch right now." "You're insane! What do you want?!" I struggled against my bonds. "What do I want?" Betty took a sip of wine.
