Bid You Adieu Novels & Stories

As Sofie eyed me from head to toe, she acknowledged me as Edward's beloved and greeted me with a polite yet scrutinizing tone. In response, I introduced myself confidently, stating that I am Edward's mate and also have another mate, Casimir. Sofie, seemingly unfazed by the revelation of multiple mates, informed us about an upcoming event where all vampires were invited. She emphasized the importance of looking good and being presentable. I glanced at Edward, seeking his guidance. Edward, however, intervened and informed Sofie that she needed to return for a meeting with her father in the council. Sofie bid her farewells, mentioning an emergency that required her immediate attention.

He handed me the note, and I read the message scrawled in Adrian's distinctive handwriting: You can't hide from me forever. - A

A deep authoritative voice boomed out of nowhere. Gasps rented the air. Heads whipped around with searching eyes. Bill scowled and yanked my head up. He squinted his eyes, trying to spot the bidder. It must be another Overlord. A smile furnished Madam Cumberbatch’s lips. Her eyes twinkled. “Sir, raise your paddle to identify yourself.” “I lost it somewhere.” The mysterious bidder answered. “Silly me.” Madam Cumberbatch's mouth parted and annoyance set in her features. “First preference is given to the Overlords.” She scoffed. “Which one do you represent?”

I said, taking another sip of champagne. The bidding started at $5,000. “Seven thousand!” “Ten thousand!” The numbers climbed quickly, and I tuned out, more interested in my drink than the spectacle. Until Adrian raised his hand. “Twenty thousand,” he said, his voice calm and confident. I choked on my champagne. “What are you doing?” “Bidding,” he said simply. “For what? A vacation we don’t need?” “It’s for charity, Mia. Lighten up.” “Thirty thousand!” someone called out, cutting off my response.

Claudia pressed. “Get out of my house, bitch!” Ada screamed. “Yes I will leave! You are dead to me anyway. And you best stay away from my brother or I will make you regret it.” She spat before walking away. Ada stood alone in the yard, tears rolling down her face. She had just lost her best friend, but what hurt the most were the words that they could never take back. T. B. C!!

Mariana Adams' Point of View Unlike the few girls that have been bought by these men, my bidding started at a jaw-dropping amount. I never thought that a mere, simple girl like me would start bidding at $20,000 in an underground black market like this. "Her name is Mariana. As you can see, she's fresh… never been touched and completely a maiden. Our girl for the night is her, and the bidding will start at the amount flashed on the screen."

Laughters echoed throughout the room and I glared at them even though I could barely see anything. “She’ll definitely keep you entertained.” The voice chuckled. Bids began trickling from the audience behind the sharp light. I squinted harder, staring at the people seeing me as nothing more than merchandise. They made me sick and my mind quickly came up with ten different ways to murder whoever won this bidding. Gradually, the prices began to soar, leaving only two people in the bidding war. One of them looked like a toad, and the other was a burly man in an all-black suit. He radiated a cold and dangerous aura and he looked like a mafia boss.

"This is where we part ways. For now." I frowned. "What do you mean? We came all this way. You can’t just leave us here." He gave a slight bow, his gaze lingering on Minseok for a moment longer than necessary. "The Veil knows you’re here. I’ve done what I can to get you this far. But the rest is up to you." And with that, he turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving us standing at the edge of the safe house, uncertain of what lay ahead.

The call ended without another word. Adriano put the phone down and stood in the center of the room for a beat, the moonlight slicing in through the window and casting lines of silver across the stone floor. This wasn’t rage anymore. This was promise. And someone — somewhere — had just signed their death sentence. Not with a bullet. But with a sip of poisoned wine. ---

"If... you marry me, it will be beneficial to you in many aspects. In the future, you can do whatever you want. Your... parents can live a good life. As for Avon, he will have a brighter future." "Ha-ha!" Adele suddenly sneered, "What's wrong?" She looked at Isaac, "Mr. Bai, it seems that you want to buy me. Do you want me to sell myself to you?" Isaac frowned slightly, "Don't talk about yourself like that." "Then what do you want me to say? Do you want me to kneel down and kowtow to you to thank you?" "..."
