Upon seeing Jai, the bird stood up straight and tilted its head to the right. It then squawked like a goose and stepping its right foot backwards as if attempting to run away. I think of all the possibilities of something that terrible happening to a little girl like that. I turn my gaze away from the little sleeping angel and look outside the window. Once there, I sit and wait for my wave. After spotting the wave, I retreat towards the shore to prepare myself for standing up. Once I reach the appropriate spot, I rise to my feet and brace for impact as the wave crashes into me, allowing me to ride it. “I've got this," I reassure myself before attempting a flip. Successfully landing the flip, I mentally celebrate with a fist pump. However, my triumph is short-lived as something unexpectedly catches the back of my surfboard, causing me to fall off at the end of the wave.
