THE BODYGUARD’S HIDDEN TRUTH

THE BODYGUARD’S HIDDEN TRUTH

He carried something in his hand, and I recognized it immediately — a small wooden box, simple and unadorned. “What’s this,” I asked, curious. “I’ve been working on something,” he admitted, something nervous in his voice that I rarely heard from him. “In Daniel’s old workshop tools, the ones we found when we visited him at the guest cottage. I mentioned once, a while back, wanting to build things again, with my hands.” He opened the box slowly, revealing a small, carved wooden bird inside, imperfect but clearly made with careful attention. “It’s not very good. I’m still learning. But I wanted to give you something that came from that part of myself again, the part I thought I’d lost after Sa

"The name is Richard Leslie." He extended a hand to her in introduction. He had a reputation about him, as the leader of The Martins a notorious branch of the English Underworld that had a complete chokehold on Brixton. His group had the monicker of being an infamous torture gang that carried out operations with brutal efficiency. Nina looked up at him warily as she listened to Gabriel beg his mother to watch a movie.

Sweet Girl For A Ruthless Billionaire

Sweet Girl For A Ruthless Billionaire

"Oh, dear, what a pity for this bird. It looks like it hurt its wing," said her mother in a loving tone. "We have to take care of it so that it heals quickly." Sira nodded, and the two of them quickly prepared a small box with a soft cloth base as a temporary bed for the bird. Sira carefully placed the bird in the box, making sure it was comfortable. A few days passed since Sira took care of the injured little bird, and from then on, Sira felt braver. She was no longer afraid to sleep, and nightmares no longer haunted her.

BOXER

BOXER

I keep my father's boxing gloves together with his trophies and souvenirs in the last open box. -The plane leaves in two hours, we have to go- my mother appears in my room, I nod, and with nothing more to say she leaves. I close the box and look at my now old room remembering some moments lived in this one. I take the box and a suitcase that is the last thing left and leave the house leaving it in the trunk. I get into the car and I see from the window the house and my mother talking to the real estate agent and give her the keys and then get into the car. She starts the car and I watch as we slowly drift away from the house until we disappear from my sight.

The Hunt For The Fugitive Bride

The Hunt For The Fugitive Bride

I thought he would say something about it but he didn't to my surprise. I quickly finished my dinner and went upstairs to escape from this awkward moment. When I came to the room, I headed straight to the bird's box. I opened the box and checked how the bird was. Since I asked Steve to feed it, I felt assured during my work. The bird was sleeping fine. “What do you have in there?” I turned to see Brian standing near the door. I asked him to come inside after closing the door. And he listened. Brian crouched beside me and looked into the box and asked me curiously while looking at the bird, “Is it your pet?”

Louisa Unchained

Louisa Unchained

As they were talking, a big iron bird with flapping wings and a razor-sharp peak and blade-like feathers, which was about three times the size of an average warbler, swooped at us. Darren pulled me down and rolled aside to dodge the attack of the iron bird. After circling above us for a few rounds, the iron bird dived into its nest and disappeared - a clock tower situated at the side of the old lady's house. Mrs. Flynn held Colt's hands and continued, "Just as I was saying... There's a tiny problem. The bird attacks people whenever they try to get into my yard!"

Warlord's Ward & Managing Mages

Warlord's Ward & Managing Mages

“I’m trapped here unless King Detry leaves.” What? Why? “So…How?” “My brother.” He walked to the wall and pulled out a gray wooden box. Retrieving some parchment and a black ash stick. He scribbled gently on the parchment and went back to the window. Twittering there made the red bird return to land on the sill. Shifting restlessly and lifting its feet as if waiting for him to hand over his note. He rolled it tight and handed it to the bird who quickly took off. Without turning from the window, he explained. “Aviari deals with many such things.”

“Just as soon as I find something to put them in.” “Like what?” Tyler wondered as they moved down to the kitchen. “A birdcage would be perfect by I doubt that sort of thing is just lying around after the clean out that I have done on this place,” Aislen chewed on her bottom lip. “A cardboard box…” “A wine box?” Tyler lifted up one of the cardboard boxes that had been used to carry in full wine bottles and now contained empty ones. Aislen smirked. “Yeah, that would do it.”

Fantastic follow up to the first book. I keep going back to the first one to reread the corresponding chapters. It’s so good to see all the perspectives. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Such a clever way to present a story. I’m hooked. I’ll read anything this author puts out at this point.

The Tired Bird Rests

The Tired Bird Rests

Go Baby Gosienna brooks
“Who’s this for?” “This…” Zayden was about to answer when he saw tears well up in Riley’s eyes. The words caught in his throat. “It’s… it’s from the restaurant. They gave it for free,” he lied. That barbecue place was an upscale restaurant. They never gave out free food like that. Riley never ate anything spicy. It was not hard to guess who the other box was really for. Silently, Riley clenched her fists. Riley snatched the barbecue box from Zayden’s hands before he could react and tossed it straight into the trash.

It has a short multicolored tail and a long orange beak that compliments its black eyes with brown circles on them. "Ahhhhhhh!" I squeak in excitement, pushing Blake away and grab hold of the camera given to me that was on my neck and take numerous pictures of the amazing bird before me. Not paying attention to my surroundings, my right foot collides with a metallic box while walking towards the balcony where the bird was.
