The Black Wolf
Two massive statues flanked the entrance, shaped like grotesque monkeys, but not the playful kind.
These were twisted, horror-born beasts, with bloated bellies, gnarled claws, and gaping mouths filled with jagged, bloodstained teeth. Their black stone skin seemed to breathe, pulsing with a dark red glow beneath the surface.
A viscous liquid, thick and crimson, dripped from their jaws, falling to the ground in slow, deliberate plops that echoed like heartbeats. Blood, or something that mimicked it.
I flinched and slammed the window shut.
