He pointed into the gloom. I increased the light from the globe in my hands, ready to fight, even more ready to run, but saw nothing. Then I noticed movement on the tunnel floor. It was low and flat, and gave off a green glow. It was moving slowly towards us, sliding across the ground. “What is it?” I asked. “A slime,” said Nyx. “Poisonous, probably. Once they attach themselves to you, they don’t let go. Vicious.” It looked like one of those robot vacuum cleaners, but rather than cleaning up, it left a trail of jelly in its wake. It didn’t seem particularly menacing. Slipping on the slime’s trail was probably the biggest danger; might have twisted an ankle.

Sachi stood up and so did Takashi still in pain. “Try anything stupid and I will kill you myself” Sachi told him. “Sure” he said. Karou searched him and unfortunately he was clean. Of all times for him to be clean it had to be now. They all looked at the open door, Takashi was filled with trepidation. “We die, we die” Sachi said. Well he was going to do that anyway. The disadvantage for all three of them was that they were at the basement, if they had been locked up, they would have been able to spray whatever concoction Takashi had made, and it would have spread, but that wasn’t happening.

Evelyn’s uncle blurted out, trying to save his own skin. Zach cocked his brow. “Mmmmm, tell me about this…. debt.” Evelyn’s uncle shivered when the man behind him kicked him again. He looked around and saw that many men in black were holding guns. He dared not lie to the man in front of him. He proceeded to tell Zach about the debt with Damian and how Evelyn had become his slave pet. An evil smirk plastered Zach’s face when he heard the details. “Interesting.” He then gave his subordinate a look.

It’s as dark as tar and it gleams with an evil shine. Danis coughs and takes deep heavy breaths. He chuckles afterward and glances at Scarlett and me. His eyes drift to the sludge and anger lights up his eyes in a violent flicker of light,

He froze, the plastic cup in his hand crumbling with the force of his grip. Slowly, he turned, eyes widening at the sight of me—black leather, hood shadowing my face, every inch the predator.

My chin was grabbed roughly and I was made to look up into the hate-filled eyes of my mate. “Bianca could never have asked you to bring her moon shade or have taken it knowing what it was”, he said and drew closer to me. “Because moon shade is a poison used to make wolfs bane”, he hissed the last part with so much anger that I felt my shoulders hunch. I looked to Bianca to see the victory in her eyes before she turned away to continue her fake crying. Tyler forced my gaze back to him with his hand on my chin.
