The Don’s Ruin
"I don't know. I don't know who they are. But they're... they're everywhere, ma'am."
I turned around.
Eight black vehicles lined the street. SUVs. Sedans. All identical. All with tinted windows so dark I couldn't see inside. They stretched from the hotel entrance all the way down the block.
And in the middle of it all, standing beside the center vehicle, adjusting his pristine suit, was Damian Blackthorn.
I exhaled through my nose. The air left my lungs in a sharp, bitter rush.
"Black fucking thorn."
I didn't think. I just moved. My heels ate up the pavement as I marched toward him. His men moved, hands going to their weapons, but Damian raised his head and smiled.
