Old Man Thomas had mixed feelings about Rick. It was true that Rick had come through over Old Madame's medical bills. Rick had even made sure that she had the proper follow up care that she required. This was something that the Old Man could not have afforded on his own. But, on the other hand, Rick had not been kind to his son Howard. The truth of the matter was that Old Man Thomas did not know what Howard had tried to do concerning Rick in Fing City. All he knew was that Rick had seen to it that Howard was forced to be a janitor at the Village Hall. This was a humiliation to, not only Howard, but the whole of the Thomas family as well. So his overall opinion of Rick was mixed.
