My soul was trembling in fear. The heartbeat kept on growing, fading. Over time the sound was increasing. A dusty window from where a gust of wind came caught my attention as I moved my head following it. Just at that moment, the flashlight fell on my eyes, and I glanced back at the entrance with a minimal gaze. I noticed a shadow standing in front of me, wearing a long white blanket and holding a lantern in one hand. "ARHHHHHH!" I screamed, rivalled by the blast of thunder and rain.

“Piano. Something slow. I think you played it once.” “I did. Before Eidolon, I taught for a while.” “That makes sense,” he said softly. “There’s something about your hands. Like they know both creation… and destruction.” That brought a tight laugh to my throat. “You don’t forget some things.” He didn’t answer, but when our fingers brushed as I handed him the canteen, he didn’t pull away. Small miracles. The Hollow was a concrete scar in the mountains. Once, it had relayed global signals through an array of underground servers. Now, it was dead—except for the chamber Paladin had marked in red ink. There, behind layers of steel and rock, lay a terminal unlike any I’d seen before.

Warriors with weapons drawn, the flailing hooves of a huge black horse and the sweep of it’s rider’s rapier, and the snarling form of a mighty, ghostly hound. The few vampires who were protected with sunglasses and masks, or who escape the ghosts by turning again, are hit by a cone of water from the large plastic blaster Tala has pulled from her bag. There is the hiss of a quenched furnace.

A loud explosion could be heard just as she finished speaking. Higurashi Shrine’s main building broke apart from the center. A human figure charged out like a sword. This person charged up to a thousand meters in the air and hovered there. Under the bright bloody light, Alex Rockefeller could see this person had dark hair, and his entire face glowed with a red light. Endless blood energy surrounded his body. He looked like an unsheathed blood sword. ‘This is Blood Shura’s aura!’ Alex felt stunned. Meanwhile, the Soul Collection Coffin that was already vibrating non-stop in his mind palace now vibrated at an even higher frequency. It felt as if it would rush out from him at any moment.

The inky depths seemed to go on forever with no end in sight. Chloe couldn’t tell up from down. I saw a large area of black with a small white blob moving around. “And there is our future alpha.” Dr. Lewiston commented. He zoomed in on the white blob. I was transfixed with the screen. There on the screen was my pup. Locke was staring at the screen as well. “Everything with our future alpha looks right on target. The pup does look a little small, but I am guessing that is due to the pup being a hybrid.” Dr. Lewiston told us. “That would be right. Angels tend to be about the same size as a normal human newborn.” Eivor pointed out.

The entrance was shaped like a perfect circle—smooth, black stone rimmed with glyphs that pulsed with light when Aria stepped forward. “They recognize you,” Lena murmured. Aria’s breath trembled. “No. They recognize what I carry.” She stepped into the circle, and the world folded inward. --- Inside the Hollow, there was no wind. No sound. Only stars. Thousands of them, glittering along the walls, the floor, the ceiling—no sky above, only endless void speckled with light. The air hummed with quiet magic. Each step echoed with memory. “It’s not just opening.” Zara swallowed against the cold. “It’s inviting us in.” The final ward failed with a shuddering crack. The Hollow Star fully bloomed. And for one suspended breath, the world forgot the moon existed.

The air tasted wrong—metallic and stale, like a room that hadn't been opened in a hundred years. "They're here," I said. I looked toward the entrance at the far end of the rink. Three figures stepped out . They weren't wearing hockey gear. They were wearing ragged black suits. Their skin was the color of a bruise, and their eyes were glowing with a sickly, pulsing purple light. The Hollow Ones. They didn't even howl. The first one leaped onto the ice, its claws extending six inches from its fingertips. It swiped at a defensive player, sending the boy flying into the boards with a sickening thud.
