Amidst the horrific pain that demanded my mind and body’s full attention, I could only manage to eke out one short message: Find me. I’m alive. Find me. I was not going to get out of here on my own. I could hardly move any part of my body. Only my arms. And I could feel the blood still gushing out of my neck. The flow had slowed down a bit. But that meant I didn’t have much time. It meant I was running out of blood.There was nothing to do now except hold on. Hold on and try not to fall down into the surrender of death.

I leaned my head back weakly against the seat and closed my eyes. Beside me, Nadia kept glancing at me worriedly. “You’re bleeding again,” she said softly. I looked down. Blood had stained the side of my hoodie again from one of the cuts near my stomach. “It’s nothing.” Her brows tightened immediately. “You almost died tonight and you’re calling it nothing?” I didn’t reply. Honestly… I still couldn’t believe I was alive. If Ethan hadn’t arrived on time... I pushed the thought away immediately. My chest tightened painfully.

No swelling, my skin is soft, clean. Realization churns in my gut. Yesterday, I had one foot firmly planted in my grave. I knew I was dying. No way should I feel good. Blade opened and roamed her eyes around. She groaned as she felt her head and body ache. Her body felt sore, as if she fell from a high place and cannot move. " Blade was unhappy to know that she was alive rather than be thankful. She would be better off dead than captured alive by her enemies.
