Kira My ear throbbed in pain as I lay on the hospital bed. Luckily for me, the poison-tipped weapon only brushed the outer part of my ear, and the doctors had successfully removed the poison and applied a topical antiseptic. They covered my ear with a bandage to stop the bleeding.

AURELIA POV♡ The next day I am finally able to go back home. The doctors spent most of the morning checking my condition again before approving the discharge. My head still feels heavy, and the inside of my ears keeps reacting to sudden sounds in an uncomfortable way. They explained that the fall and the water pressure likely disrupted my hearing more than they first expected, so the hearing aids I had been using before no longer function properly. A technician came in earlier and fitted me with a new pair. The sound through them is clearer, but every now and then a sharp jolt still runs through my ear, like a sudden pulse of pressure that makes me pause for a second until it fades.

My hand starts to feel wet and when I realize it's blood, I panic, "Forgive me, oh, god. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I didn't think... I didn't mean to..." Elliot keeps apologizing to me in a thousand different ways but I can only think of one thing. "Is it crooked?" I ask, interrupting his apology. I start to cry at the thought of having to have nose surgery like Marea, after bullying her so much about it, "Tell me, Elliot, is it crooked?!" "What color is this?" she held a card before my eyes. " mblanck" I muttered. I know I sounded funny but that was it, my nose just couldn't allow me to speak correctly. The nurse noted some things down, bandaged my swollen nose then gave me some painkillers.

She leaned her back against the icy, rough surface, calming her racing heart. Her nose had swollen at the bridge, making it challenging to breathe. Every breath through her blocked nasal passages sounded like someone whistling a sad tune. Aiko's fingers gently trailed over her misshapen nose and bruised eyes. Then she put her hands on each side of her nose and cracked it back into place with a firm swift move. Tears flowed from her eyes as the pain spread across her face.
