Headache When Blowing Nose Novels & Stories

I opened my eyes, reaching up to wipe my nose with my fingers. I stared at my hand in shock. Blood. I tilted my head back, pressing my fingers against my nostrils to stem the flow. "Do you have any tissues?" I asked the driver, who hadn't noticed my condition. The vehicle brought us to a stop at a red light. "In the glove box, help yourself," he replied. I pulled out several tissues and thoroughly wiped away the blood. Within a couple of minutes, the bleeding stopped, and the throbbing headache finally began to subside.

"You didn't see who did this?" I sigh and knead my temples. "No sir. I seen the shoe and nobody answered me, so I opened the door assuming someone was hurt...ugh..." It hurts to concentrate. My head is throbbing, and my nose broken. My sad little ladybug nose stud barely holding on to the swollen mess of my nose, slightly crooked from being reset. My brain swims, my head like a fishbowl and my thoughts are little more than random food flakes just settling to the bottom where they congealed and make no sense to me.

He smiles smugly not catching my sarcasm and sits back in his seat. My head starts getting groggy again, and I reach up to my forehead. It is bleeding quite a bit and I did not even realize. I put my forehead against the cool glass of the window to try and get some relief as I close my eyes. A wave of pressure falls over me, and it felt like my ears popped like when you are on an airplane.

He winked at me and positioned his hand beside his eyebrow to make a salute before he closed the door. I don't know what time it is but I woke up because I can't breathe due to my runny nose. While massaging my temples, I also tried to alleviate my head on the headrest. Goodness! I hate this feeling! How I wish there's a snap cure for this.

"The severity of the pain, the nosebleed—that's all within expected parameters?" Dr. Morrison gave me a measured look. "I wouldn't say it's normal, exactly, but it's not necessarily alarming either. Migraines can be severe, and the nosebleed could be related to blood pressure spikes from the pain. However, given his recent head trauma, I do want to be cautious."

As soon as I went in, they rushed to me, alarm on their faces and began to treat the nose. “How did this happen?" The doctor asked as he examined me. He had a few medical items in his hands, and I didn't know what for. . I explained to him what had happened. Though not in full details, I just told him of John catching my ankles and pulling me to the ground and how my face smashed into it. His brows furrowed and he looked more concerned. “We have to make sure you didn't have a concussion, so we'll look for that but for now let's see your nose"

"Leaning back can make the blood go to your windpipes or line your stomach. Then you'd retch. Trust me, I've had a lot of experience with bloody noses." I believe him. The excess blood that had been running down my throat before now threatens to come back up my throat. I cough again, the blood dripping from my split lip spraying outwards, some of the droplets landing on his bare chest. "I'm sorry!" I quickly exclaimed, almost forgetting who he is. I reach out and wipe the blood from his skin before he can complain about its presence. He nods. "You're okay. Hold your nose just before your bridge to clot the blood. It should stop within five minutes or so."

"Miss Hazel is here too?" Hazel stepped closer. "Feeling any better?" she asked, gently stroking Noah's head. "My nose stings, and my head is dizzy," Noah replied, his voice quiet. He seemed to be having trouble breathing. "There might be a blood clot in his nose," Alice said, looking at her son with pity. Hazel nodded. "We can clean it out later with some cold water." Just then, Alice's phone rang. It was Dom, likely calling to check on her.

My forehead feels like exploding anytime soon. As I was about to take the stairs, my nostrils caught a very beautiful scent. It was something more like vanilla and rose. I haven’t smelt something like it before. The scent was too strong it made my headache even worst. My heart beats fast I think I am out of breath. Am I palpitating now? I climb the stairs cautiously trying not to fall.

But this? I scrolled. Somewhere between a medical forum and a personal blog, I found a thread titled: “Anyone else get nosebleeds during intense focus?” That caught my attention. I clicked. People described nosebleeds during gaming marathons, ...... while studying for hours, During long creative sessions. A few mentioned adrenaline. One talked about hyperfocus, causing elevated blood pressure for short bursts. That made… some sense. I leaned back against my pillows, phone resting on my knees. Okay. Fine. Intense focus.
