I can see glimpses of the future. I pay the price of using this power with intense headaches and nosebleeds. After only three seconds into the future, my head starts to hurt and it doesn’t even start slow. It suddenly starts to hurt so much that I often feel like my head will explode. Within seconds, my nose would start to bleed and, eventually, I would pass out.

My head banged with a wild migraine and my fist on my clothes tightened. He sighed deeply before taking my hands, my palms were cold and his was warm. It felt as if they were hot as a flame, making me wriggle my hands from his hold involuntarily. Seeing that he knows I'm awake, I turned to my side on the bed with my back facing him. I opened my eyes and stared at the wall. My eyes feel puffy and sore, like they're carrying weights. My face was swollen and my nose was stuffy, raw from constant blows. I used my sleeve to wipe my tears, my cheeks feeling warm and flushed.

He smiles smugly not catching my sarcasm and sits back in his seat. My head starts getting groggy again, and I reach up to my forehead. It is bleeding quite a bit and I did not even realize. I put my forehead against the cool glass of the window to try and get some relief as I close my eyes. A wave of pressure falls over me, and it felt like my ears popped like when you are on an airplane.

"You should get your nose checked by a doctor this morning, just in case." "I'm good. Thanks," he says flatly. I get up from the bed and follow his tentative steps as he approaches the dining table. My feet itch for the door, his phone keeping him preoccupied, but I'd rather sleep on this floor than run into his father out there. "Can you breathe properly?" "I'll live." I almost roll my eyes. "Use an ice pack five to eight times a day. 15 minutes at least. Take painkillers if the swelling worsens. Elevate your head before you sleep."

As I pressed the tissue the man handed to my nose, my vision suddenly blurred and my head swirled, and I almost staggered off my stool. I have had nosebleeds before. Scratch that, I had lots of nosebleeds in the past, but this one is oddly different. It feels like an ominous warning. Once I’m well-rested, I should go to the hospital for a proper check-up. I haven’t had one in two years.

My head jerks to the other side and I feel an intense pain in my nose as blood goes flying everywhere. I here is sickening crack as his fist collides with my chest. The pain is intense as a scream and cry knowing he just broke a rib. The pain is unbearable as he keeps raining down blow after blow on my frail body. I've lost count of how many times I heard as a bone broke.

My nose hurt so badly, the pain shooting through my entire face. A foot slammed into my abdomen, dispelling the air from my lungs as I flipped over onto my back. My hands remained on my nose, my eyes too watery to see, as I now gasped for a breath. I squinted rapidly, fear pumping so heavily through my veins I shook with the surge.

Not waiting for my response, I see her rushing out of the backyard. I walk to the bamboo chairs and I sit on one of them while Owen brings me tissues for my nosebleed. It’s not severe, I can feel it and my face doesn’t hurt that much. I press the tissues slightly to my nose and a wince comes out of my mouth. Okay, maybe the smack is stronger than I thought. I’ll probably have a bruised face tomorrow. Maybe I can cover the bruise up with make-up.

I removed the towel from my nose, but blood continued to run, so I quickly covered it again. A sudden urge to sneeze held me, and I knew this was bad. I stood up and walked away from the table, my hand securing the towel around my nose. I sneezed hard, and felt a whirling sensation of blood rushing into my head which made me stagger, but I steadied myself with the help of the wall. My hand which I leaned on the wall covered my bleeding nose, while I had my other hand on my waist. Without turning to my doctor, I asked through the mind link, "Where's the restroom?"

The pain was too much. The thread snapped, and I felt a sudden rush of blood gushing from my nose. I wiped it away, panting heavily. My head was pounding, and my vision blurred. I knew I had to stop before I caused any further harm to myself. I lay back on the bed, feeling defeated and helpless.
