With a cry, I faltered, only for Kellin's fist to connect with my eye.

I fell to my knees as pain erupted from behind my right eye socket, clutching my head. My head spun, and the world blurred. Before I could get my bearings, a knee came crashing and caught me right in the nose.
The crack of my nose breaking was audible, and blood gushed out, spraying the asphalt with it. The blood spray was so potent that I heard Kellin's cronies swear in fear through the blood rush in my ears.
