“But here’s what we know. First, this...” He picked up a long, obsidian dagger, it was darker than the night itself. The surface shimmered with faint dark veins that pulsed like a heartbeat. It was eerie. It was the weapon I had seen the day of the attack. The blade seemed to absorb the light around it, casting an unnatural shadow on the once lit part.

He then turned to me and asked. “How about you, boy?” I was startled. “Ahmm.. Hawkeye of Dark Knight, 17. Best in operating latest gadgets like surveillance cameras and computers. She decided there and then she had seen enough of weapons and murder today and turned away from the door, gulping in air. Her throat burned and the bitter taste of bile still haunted Chloe’s mouth. Above her the clouds were breaking and golden sunlight was now filtering through, casting long shadows between the trees. It was too beautiful for the gruesome scene.

Curiously, the blade was not metal but pure energy with black vapors coming off of it. The dagger looked evil and ominous; the aura coming off of it made everyone feel a shiver down their spine.

I yell. He dodges my attack easily. Then, he reaches down his foot and pulls something up out of the ground. When I look down I realize what it is and the realization makes me sick. There in Starkev's hand is a black dagger covered in red runes. A weapon capable of ripping open the deepest fears of any soldier. Vassily had told me about it. The Rain Dagger. If he wants to kill me then he'll be getting close to doing just that.
