Spies that I have planted in the Bloodmoon pack for years to know what happens. To know when my brother found his mate, and when they mated under the Moon's full view." Seraphine swallowed hard. Daven had confirmed her fear. There was indeed a traitor in the Bloodmoon pack. Daven was about to say something else when someone squealed at a high pitch. Everyone turned to the door in shock.

One month after Chris was crowned as the alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, there was an incident in the market that involved several rogues as well as the vendors. The rogues disguised themselves as customers and when one of the vendors asked them for money, they went berserk and pointed their weapons at the vendor, causing a riot. Fortunately, the warriors on guard in the market area were alert enough to handle the incident quickly, so that neither the rogue nor the vendor suffered any injuries. Well, although in the end the rogues had to be punished in the Blood Moon Pack dungeon.

The moment the pressure lifted, I pushed up, breathing sharp as I turned into the chaos. Volkava’s voice rang through the ruins, sharp and unhinged. She gazed out as if she could already see it on the horizon. “The Blood Moon will rise in a few months. It’s rare, but when it comes, it changes everything. It stirs power you didn’t know you had. It makes bonds unbearable. It turns desire into madness. And for hybrids like you—” she glanced back at me, her eyes sharp, “it can be lethal if you aren’t prepared.”

His words scared me. He followed my gaze upward, staring at the red moon above us. “Moments like this,” he said quietly, “always come with exceptions.” Magic thrives, and magic is stronger under a blood moon. “You’re going to use it,” he continued. “You’re going to tap into it and give me what is mine, right now.” The barrel nudged again. “Or I'll end your life,” he finished.

I spluttered and gave him an accusing glare as I got up from the couch. “They need you on the blood moon, Abby. If they don't find you before then, their project would be a failure. All we have to do is disappear until after the blood moon,” he said as he got up and walked toward me. “What makes you so sure that they would stop looking for me after the blood moon?” I asked. “How do you even know about the blood moon?” He massaged his scalp and sat down. “I might sound crazy,” he said. “But I met an invincible dude in the woods when Mr. Gordon’s men went to find you in the woods. He said his name was Kelvin…”

In the vampire's anger, he ripped the hunter in half. Out of no where, the sky cleared to reveal the full moon. It had a blue hue to it and caused everyone including the enemy to stop and look up. Or the corner of Cilyna's eyes she could see something was happening within the circle of protection. "Kimberly what's going on in there?" she asked franticly. "It's your twins! I think they're shifting." Kimberly said, concern and awe clear in her voice. "I did not think that was possible!" Cilyna thought before throwing the vampire she had been tussling with into a witch running towards her.
