That was when she saw the blood on his hands and the scars that he had, as if he had gotten into a fight with someone next door.

Surprisingly, Adelaide had forgotten the name of the person calling for help — peculiarly. Her hands began shuddering — fear was rapidly consuming her system. He led me to the fountain. Used his good hand to cup water. Poured it over my hands. The blood washed away slowly. Turning the water pink.
