She keeps fighting as wolves come to help Jack. She took one of the wolves down, but another bit into her side. “Scarlet!” She falls. Her breath is labored as blood coats the ground. The wolves turn to me. Frank roars, trying to break free. They claw at him, but he keeps fighting to get to me.

But she wasn’t here. An average brown wolf had Jack pinned. Its teeth latched onto his neck. I howled in rage and charged toward them. With a single blow, I knocked him off Jack’s body before turning on him myself and going for his throat. With Jack safe, we pushed forward against our enemies. The battle raged on for what felt like hours, but eventually, we gained the upper hand. One by one, the Whitewater wolves fell until only a few were left standing. Among them was the alpha–the one responsible for this whole mess. He growled and lunged at me, but I was ready for him.

The female cats with their wolf pack mates stayed to the rear for the same reason. Most of the surrounding jungle was cleared away. Dmitri could see permanent living quarters in the distance, but their enemy wasn't yet coming out to play. The Moor said they had more than three hundred cats. Suddenly, gunfire sounded in the distance and it took everything Dmitri had to hold his position. Each clan had a job and he would do his. Jenna’s POV The battle rages on, each moment more chaotic than the last. The air crackles with energy, the shouts and snarls of my pack mixing with the mocking laughter of the council elders. Blood stains the ground, and the scent of it makes my stomach churn, but I can’t let myself falter. Jack fights with the ferocity of a true Alpha, his hazel eyes blazing as he clashes with the leader of the council. She meets his every move with a smirk, as though she’s toying with him, her power radiating in waves.
