The image was familiar, but I could not remember where I had seen it before. I realized that the other person also had the same tattoo on his wrist, and so concluded that it was an identification method for their pack or clan.

A date, 12-08-1994, was etched beneath the wolf's heart. Other than that, I saw a vividly drawn skull. A large knife was plunged through the top of the skull and cracks on the skull were shown around it. In capital letters ‘FEAR NO ONE’ was scrawled around the knife’s blade. In the very center of his back, a large wolf’s head with a majestic crown sitting on top of it was inked into his skin. Beneath it, a map of the North was drawn. On the left side of his back, I saw a compass tattoo.

Other werewolves would have been over the moon bearing that colored print under their skin because it only means to be given to royal werewolves. However, for Tyr, having only a half mark printed on him means he must be cursed.

Sage blinked, stretching their hand toward the illustrative black wolf with purple eyes that made up my chest piece. It took me a second to piece it together. The tattoo on my right bicep was an illustrative forest that made a V in the mist with a lunar eclipse in the sky. It clicked when my brain caught up to Sage reaching for the wolf. Their wolf is named Eclipse. Did the wolf on my chest remind Sage of theirs? “Eclipse? Does your wolf look like this?” I asked, touching my tattoo. “Um… yeah. Exactly like this, purple eyes and all.” Sage nodded. “Can I…” They pointed at my tattoo.

Brody smiled. Curiosity getting the best of her, Hikaru asked boldly, "Who is the Sacrifice?" She asked. "Do you really want to know the answer to that?" Brody smiled wickedly. "You're so dramatic, brother. Who or what is the sacrifice? Anyone we know?" She asked, ice in her words. "The pups, of coarse. They will live for 72 hours, Jo and Chad will suck their Wolf Spirits out of them adding the twin's power, sharing bloodline gifts, and Eternal Royal, Nightshade life." Brody laughed, seeing Hikaru's mortified face.

My dad sends them claws every month so they can break them down into their needles.” Cass shivered as I chuckled. “Alphas have a deal with the tattoo artists in their packs. It’s the only way to get them to stay without wolfsbane.” “Doesn’t it hurt?” “Pulling your claws out? Well yeah, but they grow back instantly. So the pain is fleeting. And this helps with pack morale. And the plus of getting your work by a skilled artist.”

“And didn’t I tell you to drop the formalities when we’re alone, darling?” I have heard of the Dread Moon pack wolves being tattooed, but I have never seen one in person before. His right arm and pectoral are adorned with black ink, and I spy his pack crest amidst some rose designs. It is actually quite a beautiful tapestry and something inside of me seems to pull me toward him.
