He descended quietly, blending into the ruins. The Pact’s leader, a gaunt figure named Coren Dask, stood at the heart of the experiment. His eyes glowed faintly not from power, but from exhaustion.
“The bloom is a tool,” Dask said, his voice echoing through the ruins. “It reflects power. If we command it, the world will follow.”
One of his lieutenants hesitated. “But Iluren punishes greed. The Custodians’ attempts failed”
