I watched as he reached out, but the moment his fingers neared it, the orb flared. A force pushed us both back against the wall. We hit the ground hard, breath knocked out of us. I groaned, but Ugarh sat up quickly, his face pale.

Mirabel nodded as she repeated, completely clueless as to what the Blue Miracle was.
