This wasn't right.
"Hey guys, are you alright?" I asked, kneeling in front of them, placing a hand on Evan's forehead.
His skin was burning hot, and his eyes were glazed over. Ivan, usually the more stoic one, looked pale and clammy.
Anna rushed to my side, concern etched on her face. "They must be coming down with something," she murmured, her voice laced with worry.
Realization dawned on us. We had underestimated the mountain's altitude and hadn't planned for the possibility of the boys getting sick. Deciding to prioritize their well-being, we started the trek back down. Disappointment flickered across the boys' faces, but they understood.
