Meanwhile, miles away at Briarwood University, Ben stood outside the girls’ dorms, his expression grimacing.
Drenched in sweat, Cory approached, lugging two massive pink suitcases.
“Ben, any luck getting through? Where on earth is Kaycee?”
Ben gripped his phone, his knuckles white.
“The number is no longer in service.
“She blocked me and deleted her number.”
Stunned, Cory dropped the luggage down onto the floor.
