Blurred Vision Upon Waking Up Novels & Stories

Sitting on my bed, I felt a dull pain on my forehead as I creased it gently. My vision blurred as I closed my eyes, breathing in and out softly. I opened my eyes yet again as I tried to rub away the sleep fogging my vision. It felt as if I had slept forever.

I blinked to clear the blurriness that was creeping into my vision as I focused on the task in front of me. I was just exhausted. The events from yesterday, and the fact that I didn’t get enough sleep, were contributing to it. I kept working, scrubbing faster when my vision blurred again. This time, I couldn’t ignore how dizzy I felt. The clothes slipped from my grip as I tried to steady myself, but everything tilted before me. And then, everything went black.

My vision slowly blurring, everything fading to nothing. My eyes are heavy, I hear voices in my earshot, muffled voices, I can barely hear a word straight. My eyes flutter, trying to stay open but drowsiness strives to consume me once again. I fight against it, opening my eyes once again but they fall heavy. However this time, I get a peek at two blurred faces towering over me, discussing something. “Maybe we should call a specialist, she's been like that for six hours.” someone whines, a familiar voice but I can't remember whose it is.

They were shipped in from overseas at a ridiculous cost. “I have never missed taking them. Damn it, Rukov—if I don’t take them, how the fuck am I supposed to see?” I snapped. “I think right now the drugs aren’t doing their job anymore. It’s more like an after-effect. Last night I went totally blind for a few minutes. Earlier this morning I had a bad blur in my left eye that lasted almost an hour.” “Do you think we should head to the hospital? They might be able to check if something’s wrong,” Rukov suggested.

Beep. Beep. Beep. A loud noise awakens me, but disappears as soon as I open my eyes. My vision remains blurry and I swear that I can see a lab room with doctors bustling about surrounding me. My limbs feel heavy and weak. Then I blink and am back in the same bed I woke up in yesterday. I sit up, rubbing my eyes. Nothing has changed when I open them again. I am still sitting in bed covered by my navy blue comforter. My desk stands opposite my bed in the right corner of the room. Both my closet door and bathroom door hang open the way that I usually leave them.

He gulped. Almost immediately, his head felt numb. Afterwards, a throbbing sensation started crawling from the back of his skull towards his eyes. He grimaced as his vision turned blurry, then after blinking a few times, it started to slowly return to normal. Perhaps, more than normal, as now he could see things inside the room as if they were being shined by a full moon light. "Well that was something..." he remarked.

My vision blurred and the music felt quite loud . “You look pale.” A concerned waitress said. “Are you alright?” I nodded weakly. “Yes—just a bit worn out.” But I wasn't worn out. There was a problem, something was wrong and I couldn't place my fingers on what it was. I poured a customer’s drink but the glass felt cold in my hands and my vision was blurry as I tried to focus.by blinking. I almost dropped the glass because it slipped a little. The older bartender next to me, Marco reached for it before I could put it down.

I just wanted some help, but now I had gone ahead and kicked myself in the arse. And what made it even worse, was the fact that my blurred vision was slowly but surely being obstructed by tiny black dots. I did not need to take a guess to know that it would only be a matter of time before I passed out, before I would no longer be able to do anything to help myself. And I needed to make peace with that.

My eyes twitched when I opened it but couldn't see, the vision was so poor and blurry that I closed it again, and when I tried to open it again I felt a throbbing pain pounding out loudly in my head, my body was Achy, weak and sore, tried to stretch my legs so I could adjust and sit upright but I felt like every muscle have been pulled out from the tendons like I had overworked. I opened my eyes again, it was still blurry then for a few seconds my vision became clear.

I felt the sensation of wind being blown into my eyes, making my vision go slightly blurry. I blinked a few times to try and get my eyes to focus. I squeezed Dmitri’s hand as my sight cleared. Everything looked like it belonged in one of those cheesy dream sequences you see in soap dramas. Everything was a little too bright, and a bit hazy, like a fog had filled the room. Even the people looked the same, but different.
