Blurred Vision Upon Waking Up Novels & Stories

Derek's POV Beep. Beep. Beep. My eyes snapped open, and a sharp, blinding wave of pain immediately spiked right behind my forehead. Everything was a blurry, out of focus smudge for a second, the morning light coming through the window hurting my retinas until my vision finally sharpened.

Just enough to make me pause mid-reach. I gripped the edge of the desk, blinking hard. Fatigue, probably. Lack of sleep catching up faster than anticipated. 'Just need more water,' I rationalized. The dizziness didn't leave. It crept in slowly, insidiously, like fog rolling through cracks I hadn't known existed. My vision blurred at the edges, sounds dulling as though someone had packed cotton in my ears. I pressed my palms flat against the desk, grounding myself. 'What the hell?'

I mopped off the sweat that had covered my brows. Today was a different one. I had flashes of things I couldn't understand. Sometimes when I look at the vanity mirror, I see a blurry image, very unclear. I try to refocus, to see the image properly, but I always ended up with a splitting head that makes me feel like ripping off my head.

I have to wake up early for my chores tomorrow so I have to go to bed early as well. I don't care if he disagrees, I'll just have to find a way to convince him. I'm so tired at the moment. After taking the decision, I stood up to go meet him but nearly fell back down as my vision blurred uncontrollably, my eyes feeling like they had rolled to the back of my head. I hold the table for support as I rest my hand on my forehead, massaging my temple gently. What the hell is going on? What's with the sudden dizziness?

I could feel the exhaustion seeping into my bones, making it harder and harder to stay awake. My vision began to blur, and the words on the pages of my book started to dance around, making it impossible to focus on them. I rubbed my eyes, hoping to clear them, but it didn't help. It was as if a veil had been drawn over my eyes, making everything hazy and indistinct.

When I wake up, my vision is blurry and my head is groggy. I feel nauseous and cold. I don't know where I am. I try to open my eyes to get a better look around, only for my stomach to somersault. I begin to dry heave, using what little strength I have not to throw up. I lean back and feel my back rest against a cold wall. I lean my head back slowly, allowing my stomach to settle before I try to open my eyes once more. After several minutes, I feel the nausea begin to settle, so I try to open my eyes once more.

he said as he got out his tools and came to examine my eyes. "Your eyes seem okay, and you seem to be improving faster," the doctor observed. "Thank you, Doctor," my grey eyes beamed with intensity. "Are you experiencing any difficulties?" the doctor asked. "Ehm, just that my vision gets blurry with the glasses on... Yes, like I feel I'm going blind from the glasses," I added. "Oh, sorry about that," the doctor stated. "I think I will prescribe you new glasses to help with that. And please stay off them as often as possible, so it wouldn't damage your already-made progress."

When I wake up, it feels as though I've been hit by a ton of bricks. My head is dizzy, and my vision blurry. The events leading up to this are foggy. I don't understand where I am, or what happened. I try to move my hands, which is when I noticed that I'm chained to a bed. I attempt to sit up, but my head begins to spin, forcing me back onto the bed. I try to look around the room for any clues. But my vision is so blurry, that it's hard to distinguish anything familiar.

No one responds. My vision is blurred, something I'd grown used to. This time it felt different. Like a mist covering my eyes but not touching my skin. I blink several times, waiting for the dizziness that usually accompanies the action. It doesn't come. I hesitate before bringing a hand up to wipe at my eyes. The movement is sluggish; and my arm stings but it doesn't feel heavy. I'd grown used to the heaviness of my own body, I realize. An ache does form, greater than I've felt in awhile. It stretches across the muscles of my arm, accompanying the sting from my healing injury. My eyes hurt as I drag a fist over the lids but my vision clears. Clearer than I've felt in who knows how long.

My vision blurs, and I Stagger before falling ungracefully to the floor. I blink, trying to stay awake, but I couldn't help it. Black seeps into my vision, and I fall unconscious.
